I'm trying to find my sister a cute martini shaker for her birthday but I'm not having any luck.
I already checked Target and Pier One's websites, Ebay, and Amazon.
I'm away at school so I'd like to be able to buy it online.
Thanks!

I really want to serve Halibut, but I am worrying about it drying out. I have heard that Sea Bass is the best to serve for a large group of people b/c it has a high fat content and is difficult to dry out.

My first choice would be a Popcorn Crusted Halibut....is this too risky? Should I play it safe and go with Sea Bass?

How does your sense of smell effect your taste? I understand what smells good is usually good so you have an idea in your head that what your about to eat is good. But nasty smelling items isn't always nasty!

I was curious as to how vegetarians/vegans view people who raise their own animals in a more old-fashioned, natural way (i.e., organic) and thus eat meat that comes from an animal that has been treated humanely and had a normal, happy life. Do you feel that it is a better method of consuming meat/animal products than if it is from a factory farm? I ask this because I used to raise my own chickens (both laying hens and fryers), and I have also raised beef, and hogs. All roamed large areas of pasture and/or farmland (USDA certified organic, no less), were fed properly, and killed humanely/quickly. I felt that I had a deeper connection with where my food was coming from (I also grew all my own veggies), and had a deeper respect for the sacrifice the animal made so that I could eat. Does that make any difference to you (as in, is it morally better), or is it all one in the same?

Is there anything cold you commonly put ketchup on? It was a question that came up at dinner tonight and we couldn't think of an answer!

I'm not Vegan myself, but one of my friends is. It's her birthday on Thursday and we have a night class together. I'd like to make a cake, but then I remembered that she was vegan. Any suggestions/recipes? Thanks!

My mother had a recipe for an apple custard pie, that was originally a recipe that she got off a land-o-lakes sour cream container. About 20 yrs ago or so. Does anyone have this recipe, or know of one for apple custard pie.

I've heard some about aging beef, steaks in particular. Wouldn't this be a health risk? Granted, so is eating sushi and I'm still a big fan of that, so is it worth the risk?

My best friend's husband is turning 50 soon and we are trying to come up with a great idea for the day or evening to celebrate. He is my husband's best friend and business partner. We are not into anything illegal. The guys usually smoke cigars while we gals drink our wine & chat.

His birthday is the 27th of this month. Any great ideas would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Okay, here is the word problem, with the answers we were supposed to get... HOW are we to end up with these? All 10 of us in the class do NOT get these answers...

On Oct 1, 2003, the Topeka Capital Journal ran a featured article on making cake frosting. The recipe called for an 8-ounce package of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of butter, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and 3/4 cup of confectioner's sugar. If Mr. Baker watns to reduce the recipe by 1/3, how much of each ingredient would he need?

These are the answers in the back of the book:

7 2/3
5 1/3
1/3
1 1/3
1/2

Our teacher won't show us because she just keeps moving on to the next chapter...

I don't know what other stuff to put in it to make it taste good. So far I've put bacon, brown sugar, and honey. What else should I put in there that goes with the ingredients I've already put in that will compliment it.
