I probably eat 4 pieces of buttered toast everyday. Two in the morning and two with dinner. I didn't used to eat toast everyday. I am just craving it a lot. Does this mean anything? Am I substituting for something? Am I lacking something in my diet? Or do I simply just love toast right now?

My doctor advised me to refrain from eating food containing wheat, fish, and pecans as he found out I am allergic to them after doing some test. I am confused. I do not Know what to eat and what not to. Please , can anyone suggest some recipes that are wheat, fish, and pecan free. Right now I am eating eggs( scrambled, omlette, boiled etc.), rice with lentils, rye bread( although all the rye breads I have seen in stores contain a little amount of whole wheat)

I live in Kansas at about 2000 feet elevation. (I don't know if that matters but I've tried so much, I'm starting to wonder what affects baking at what doesn't.). I am STRUGGLING with homeade biscuits. I have made biscuits 10-12 times, each time modifying something I did before, with little luck. I've tried:

Better Homes and Gardens recipes - milk and buttermilk
self-rising flour
all purpose flour
real butter
margarine
real butter/crisco combo
just crisco
Firm kneeding (10-12 strokes)
Medium kneeding (3-5 strokes)
Almost no kneeding (dump, flatten dough, cut)
Greased pan
Non-greased pan
Baking inch-apart on cookie sheet
Baking butted up to each other in cake pan

Any advice, let me know. Any awesome recipes, let me know. I just want golden brown, flaky homeade biscuits that rise, that's all. I am tired of flat or hard, seriously crumbly, seriously runny, etc.

Any thoughts, let me know!

I've been trying to make grilled tofu but I can't seem to marinate the tofu enough--the sauce lightly coats the outside, but the inside is just bland. Does anyone have any ideas on how to marinade tofu, what sauces to use, how long to, and how to prepare tofu? I like extra firm tofu if that helps. Thanks!

Has anyone ever made smoked hocks and cabbage, I want to make some for dinner but don't know how long to cook.

Please Help?

Do I cook them at the same time or seperate. I've heard that cabbage only takes a few minutes to cook, but my sister cooks hers for an hour. Anybody else do this?

ok i've seen a dietician and i am eating a healthy, balanced vegetarian diet. time ago i used to eat meat, fish, chicken, eggs etc and since i have stopped it's like i constantly crave sugar. i eat cheese and drink milk but i'm not understanding this craving expecially for chocolate. (btw it's impossible if i am pregnant) if i don't eat chocolate or something sweet during the week i feel lethargic. i exercise and i don't have diabetes or anemia

Im trying to get rid of soda from my diet, so what is the healthiest thing to replace it with. (Not including water or tea, I already know they are healthy. And if you name a juice, please add a specific brand name!) Thanks!

I know this may sound a little crazy to some of you, but a Chess Pie is a southern-style pie make with eggs, sugar, and cream. I was really wanting an exact recipe. I am from Kentucky originally and it is a huge favorite there. Not all of them are good though. The best is a creamy chess pie with smooth texture that can only be described as the best dessert on the face of the planet. It is hugely fattening but it is well worth it. Thanks to all that respond. God bless you all.
