We decided on the spur of the moment to have a surprise birthday breakfast for our nephew. This will be bright and early, since rudely waking him up and rolling him out of the bed is part of the surprise....this means I need to have something already assembled and ready to pop in the oven.

Since I've never made breakfast casserole before, I would also like to have a recipe that is tried and true - preferably one that looks as appealing as it tastes. Does anyone have a good family recipe or know a reliable website for recipes like this?

Yep, well I got my party on back in May. May 5th to ne exact. I'm headed off to college and was told that I needed a physical in ordeer to go into sports, I was then told that I'd be found out since I'll have to piss in a cup. Is the alcohol still inside me? So I just had one of my good girlfriends decline to be one of the host of my babyshower b/c I wanted to have a potluck?!
Is potluck that bad that a suppossed good girlfriend wanted "out" on being a host? Are people that miserable to not want to bring in $5 worth of potluck appetizer just b/c they're bringing a lousy gift?

I bought a vacuum sealed package of lettuce cuts to make for my sandwiches and nothings that on the edges and on some of the "veins" I guess you could say of the green romaine lettuce is turning a reddish color. I'm going to a large-ish party tomorrow and have been asked to bring an appetizer. I love to cook and I have a gazillion appetizer recipes, but most of my best ones are hot. I have a hunch that my hostess will have other uses for her own oven than reheating my app's! So who has a great recipe, a little bit "elegant", meant to be served cold or room temperature, that's not too hard to bring along?

Best of all is a recipe where mayonnaise is not involved--I can't stand it. :)

What are some good recipes or tips of making a good, thoroughly-cooked hamburger? I am not talking about recipes with ground beef in them, like hamburger helper--I'm asking about actual burgers.
