this is a question to all chefs and foodies... are you overweight? i don't understand how most chefs are normal weight... obviously they looove food and prepare it all the time, which means they are probably thinking about it alot. how can they resist all of their delicious creations... how do they keep their weight under control?

(i understand that cooking probably burns quite a few calores, it's very "hands-on" but my question is more about the calorie consumption end, not exercise)

I'm vegan but I used to LOVE to bake. However, now I refuse to because I refuse to use eggs. When I told my friend, she said that she heard somewhere that half a banana can be used to substitute one egg while baking. Is this true? If not, are there any egg substitutes?

I have never cooked vegetarian or even know where to shop. A lot of the recipes I have already seen are about 90% pasta. Can someone please help with where and what to buy? I am totally lost! Thanks!!

Going to an all day Shuffleboard Tournament Memorial Day weekend.

Since the food will be sitting out all day I don't want anything with sour cream or cream cheese.

Any other snack suggestions besides

black bean & corn salsa w/ chips
artichoke & tomato dip w/ crackers
chex mix

Thanks

I ask because a fisherman friend of mine occasionally gets lucky with his nets, and as a big seafood and wine fan, I am looking forward to his next "catch" as it is a fish that I have long had an appetite for, just for the novelty really. I'm thinking a decent Chilean Sauvignon Blanc?
