You don't need a recipe. All you need to do is wash them and put them in the crock pot, with all the usual chicken spices...salt, pepper, garlic, sage, thyme for your taste. And a cup or two of water, depending on the amount of meat used. I suggest that you remove the skin before putting them in the crock pot, because who wants to eat boiled chicken skin? And this is what a crock pot does--it slowly boils anything you put in it.

When you come home you would thicken the sauce by adding some cornstarch mixed with water, like you do for regular gravies.

And then make up some mashed potatoes or rice to serve it with. Have a salad on the side.

Chicken Paprikas

1 chicken1 oz margarine
1 onion 1 tablespoon paprika
Cornstarch sour cream
Maggi salt
tabasco sauce

Cut chicken into big pieces. Salt. Then fry in margarine with finely cut onion until both onions and chicken turn light brown. Add some water and 1 teaspoon of paprika mix well and let simmer for 10 minutes.

Remove all the pieces of chicken into a bowl. Now add sour cream and 2 teaspoons of cornstarch to the sauce. Stir until smooth then let come to a boil. Add 5 drops of Tabasco sauce and add salt and Maggi to your taste. If necessary add more paprika at this point.

Strain the sauce and pour over the chicken pieces. Place into oven and bake 20 to 30 minutes at 300 degrees. Can be served with rice, spaetzle or noodles and a salad.

Change the oven part to your crock pot. Taste will be the same.

ADOBO - put the thighs in the crock pot. Pour in equal parts soy sauce and vinegar, until liquid covers the chicken by about three inches or so. Add about 20 cloves of garlic roughly chopped (not too fine). quarter three medium onions
(or two large) and seperate the sections a little and add them to the pot, a little salt & pepper, and a bay leaf. That's it! Cover and let simmer for 2-3 hours. It's yummy served with some white rice. :)

Slow-Cooked Curried Chicken

1 1/4 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs
Salt and pepper -- to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion chopped
1 head garlic -- separated, and individual cloves peeled
1/2 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon curry powder
1/2 cup chutney

2 cups cooked couscous

Heat oil in a large frying pan on medium high heat. Add chopped onion and garlic cloves. Cook until the onion is wilted. Add the chicken and cook until the onion starts to brown slightly. Transfer the chicken, onion and garlic to the crockpot. Lower the heat under the frying pan to simmer and add the wine, chicken broth, curry powder and chutney. Stir until well combined. Add to the crockpot. Cook on low for six hours. Serve over the couscous. If you don't have a crockpot, you can cook it in a 225 degree oven in a covered casserole dish. I suggest serving baby carrots as your vegetable.
