My bf loves rice,he has to have everyday with meat and a vegetable or beans. His wonderful eating habits have resulted in me gaining a total of 30lbs in the past year and a half. So I obviously need to change it. When I asked what to replace rice with people responded with "buns, rolls, pasta, noodles" which can be healthy but we need to watch our weight. Is there anything besides salad that I can make?

hi, I need ideas for a pot luck. The teachers are grouped and it's now my groups turn to come up with a theme and then the food to go along with the theme. They already have done tacos, desserts, sundays, baked potato, salads, soups, and pasta. Thanks for any help.

I have tried to make mexican rice and it turns out right how the recipe tells, but its not the rice im trying to make. In restaurants and in homes where my mexican friends will be cooking i notice they make like a really dry rice thats almost white or light tan in colour?? I know its not mexican rice becuase using any kind of tomato puree or whatever doesnt make it very dry or the color or taste im looking for. Anyone have any ideas on what kind of rice im talking about?

Lately I've been practicing on how to make and decorate with rolled, white fondant. The recipe states that "clear vanilla extract" be used. I always use Madagascar Pure Vanilla Extract for baking and I'm confused! Is there such a thing as pure but clear vanilla extract?

I'm a college student, so I've learned how to be creative when it comes to eating since I don't cook like my mom or grandma. So, one night, I used the classic college food, ramen noodles. Cooked it, put the seasoning in, drained it, poured spaghetti in it, then put parmesan cheese all over. I stirred it up and had my spaghetti! What do you think of this recipe?

I grew up in the 70's and 80's and I remember saltine crackers were made with 4 crackers per cracker and there were only 2 packages of crackers per box not like now where all the crackers are seperated and packaged into 4 single cracker stacks in a box. When did this change take place I don't remember and I liked it when crackers were big like that and wonder if any brand still keeps them in a big square?
