There's not too many people in the office, but including their families and all, it might amount to about 15-20 people. What are some good ideas for a dinner party/event that would include good food and entertainment?

Last year, the event was at a dinner theatre (Mysteriously Yours, in Toronto), so we'd like to do something different this year.

It's to be held around November-December, partially to celebrate the holidays/New year and partially to thank the workers.

Thanks in advance for the ideas!

The difference between butter and margarine?

Both have the same amount of calories, butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams. Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods, butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added! Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods. Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

Now for Margarine, very high in trans fatty acids triple risk of Coronary Heart Disease, Increases total and LDL ( This is the bad Cholesterol), Lowers HDL cholesterol and this is the good one, Increases the risk of cancers by up to five fold, lowers quality of breast milk, decreases immune response, and decreases insulin response.

And here is the most disturbing fact......

Margarine is but one molecule from being PLASTIC..... (This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated, this means hydrogen is added changing the molecular structure of the food.)

You can try this for yourself, purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area, within a couple of days you will note a couple of things, no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it, (that should tell you something) it does not rot, smell differently... Because it has no nutritional value, nothing will grow on it, even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not find a home to grow... Why?

Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

I was walking down the street yesterday and a dirty old bum asked me for 5 bucks he said he was hungry. I watched as this dirty stinking bum went into the liqour store and bought 3 bottles of thunderbird wine. my question is should i go back there and beat the daylights out of him or should i wait until i see him drinking and pour his cheap wine all over him???

I am looking for a new pie and pie crust recipe, since the pie (my first) I made last year was very bland and the crust was not very flaky and tender. I want to try something new for this Thanksgiving and hope to improve upon last year.
Thanks

Hi I have a question. I'm making these rolls where it says to refrigerate the dough overnight. I was going to make the dough last night but I forgot. WOuld it be okay to have it in the fridge for 2-3 hours. Realistically I could have it in the fridge for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, then shape them and keep them in for another hour or 2. Or maybe they'd rise faster in warm instead of the fridge, I don't know. Will this work or should I just make them, put them in the fridge overnight, and bake them tomorrow? I'll give you a link to the recipe if that helps. Thanks!
