does anyone ever have burnt black toast,so need to turn setting so high!!!!

you will find if you do frozen things it will work out also as the toaster get constant use the setting has to be set higher as the wear and tear on the elements ..start on the downhill to give up....my toaster is getting like that now for toast i have to set it to max.......and it comes out perfect...but it is quite old...

My 17 year old likes burnt toast! Yuck, I don't. So I hate using the toaster after he has! I never think to check the setting first.
