Yes, refrigerate it. The bottle you see in a restaurant may be it''s 3rd or 4th for the day. The turnover is great enough that it is not necessary to cool it. At your home it may be out for several days before empty if you have a large family and eat ketchup a lot. A normal family might take a month or close to a year to use it, depending on their food choices and the size of the bottle. Bottom line, it will taste much better if you refrigerate it, and you will find that putting it away won't take much time, effort, or space. You and your family deserve fresh, good tasting ketchup, not thick darkened, vinegar tasting ketchup.

I'm not a big fan of ketchup anymore. I find it very sweet now but if I'm going to have it I like it refrigerated.

What it says on the label is just Legal Ease to cover the fannies of the producers of the product. If your like the guy that had the Bisquick box with the expiration date of 2000, and don't use that much K-sauce then chill it, if you use it on cereal keep it handy you never know when a french fry might stop by. Enjoy

It is a sign of the times, I think, that you never had to refrigerate ketchup, but now it seems labels are telling us you should.

You know I had the same question too.
According to the bottle it says to do it, but what I noticed in most restaurants they don't, my guess is because it's highly consume on the daily bases that doesn't need to be!
That's my assumption!

YES,IT SHOULD BE REFRIGERATED AFTER USE.
TIP: IT SHOULD,LIKE MANY CHEESES, BE UNREFRIGERATED AN HOUR OR SO BEFORE USE,SO IT CAN FLOW FREELY IN ORDER TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS FROM SLAPPING THE BOTTLE.
ALSO, AVOID GLASS BOTTLES & USE THE
PLASTIC SQUEEZE BOTTLES FOR THIS REASON & TO USE UP ALL THE KETCHUP.
