no eggs are considered a dairy product because there is no true chicken embryo because of the fact that the eggs are not "nourisehd" because, the hens that are hatchign the eggs we eat are not anywhere near roosters and thus is just an egg there is no meat.

No, eggs are eggs. The yolk is intended to nourish the embryonic chick until it is ready to hatch. If an egg is unfertilized, it is not meat.

Given enough time and fertization they become meat, so I suppose that makes them at least a predecessor to meat.

Dairy .... until left to embryo state then meat but not good to eat with embryo inside they are then tossed or left to become chicks

According to the usda, the people who make the food "pyramid" they are. But alas...I feel that they are wrong, as your earlier answerer said...they're just unfertilized embryo's, the yolk is what would be a placenta to our human babies. But, where they're un-fertilized, the placenta is useless. But, makes a tasty meal. They are however an animal byproduct, so if you're thinking of going vegan, then you're s.o.l.

they aren't meat, but they are a good alternative source of protein. As are beans and nuts.
