I'm not sure about ingrediants, but you can always look up http://www.foodnetwork.com to see if they've got anything. Personally, I'd suggest investing in a bottle of Beano if you're a little on the "musical" side. You should be able to find it in your local grocery store.

Beano comes in liquid and in chewable form. Take it before your first bite. If you are a big eater, take more beano, it is completely safe. The instructions tell you the amount for one normal portion, but some of us eat bigger than normal portions (fist sized). The instructions also tell you to adjust your dose to the size of your troublesome meal, then enjoy, worry free! The great benefit to the chalky tablets, is you can keep them in your car, purse, pocket, whatever...so you can eat at a restaurant and decide on the unplanned but yummy sounding chili or what ever you want, and not have to forgo it to avoid the side effects. The ingredient that is supposed to do away with gassy side effect of beans is vinegar. I tried it, unsuccessfully.

You know I believe I saw that on GMA or something and I THINK it was celery. Just a stalk or two cut in half or so. You don't have to keep the celery in it, but have it in there while it's cooking. I think the idea was that the celery absorbs the gas causing properties of the beans. Not totally sure on this but I think that was it-

I have known people that used sugar, brown sugar and baking soda for this purpose. I'm not positive but I think the soda works best. If your wife wants to try them~tell her to just use a small amt. 1tsp to 1Tbsp depending on amount of beans.
Hope this helps & happy cooking (hopefully without the "music")!!

try popping a beano tablet before eating; gas is caused by bacteria feeding on stuff in the intestine, the enzyme in the beano stops the bacteria from feeding
