Food & Drink - 29 October 2006

We always made it from a flour roux, the fat being bacon drippings, many times. After the roux is good and set, we put in a lot of milk. It thickens, and we (we being Southerners with a standard set table) loved that gravy on and beside nearly everything.

Do any Northerners do this?

It's about 2 gallons. Going to put it in a big thermos that has insulated sides. It has to sit in there for about 2 hrs before people are going to drink it.
P.S. should I add anything to the apple cider? (there will be kids present so don't get any ideas, heh heh :-))

i got drunk last night on like 6 different drink at two halloween parties. and this morning i feel shaky kinda and i really feel like throwing up..but nothing comes up.
if i drink water wiill that make me throw up or make me feel a little better??
if i eat some food will that make me throw up or make me feel a little better??
i dooont care, i just either wanna throw up to feel better or feel better without throwing up...

1,000's of meetings haven't helped me permanantly stop drinking although I've been able to go without drinking for long periods of time.

This was a whole pound of bacon that was wrapped in paper then rolled up and fit into a round can. I would really like to find any such product that would even be similar.

I buy Aquafina brand bottled water. Often opening a bottle in my car. I may not take another drink of it for another day or two when I am in that car again. By then, the flavor has become bad-tasting.
Any way to bring back the good flavor again ?

I am looking for a ceramic jar specifically made for biscotti. I need the price to be under 25 dollars. I need to know what stores might carry them, or where online to look. My ex mother-in-law used to tell me crab soup would sour if you made it during a storm,I never did believe her, Until I saw it first hand.I went to her house for dinner one night,this is all true! We were going to have crab soup.no kidding right?lol when i arrived the soup smelled great.You know i had to taste it as soon as i went through the door.yummy! with in half an hour from when i tasted it.A storm rolled in.The mother in law got upset and said there goes my soup.My hand to god when I went to taste that soup it smelled sp bad i didn't want any of it.
