I'm trying to live a better lifestyle - exercising more and smarter, cutting my portion sizes and eating healthier - but one thing that I've found that is hard for me is cutting out soft drinks. I've had one or two a day for a while now, and its been hard to just drink water instead. So, while I know that I can get the caffeine I want from tea, it just isn't the same.

I know that soda - colas, especially - aren't good for you and while I've switched to diet colas (Diet Coke, specifically, since its at my work's vending machine) to cut the calories from the sodas, just how bad are these drinks for me?

I am going to a church retreat this weekend. On Friday night we are supposed to "bring a dish to share" The loccation is 60 to 75 miles away and there is a stove, an oven, and a microwave to use when we get there. What should I take? How do I transport it?
Thanks for the brianstorming. :)

I've been dating a new guy for about 3 weeks. I'm cooking for him for the first time tomorrow night. I'm a good cook (I've won an award or two), so I'm not nervous about that. I'm just looking for good recipes that will impress him, because we all know the way to a man's heart is through his stomach! ;) I'm not afraid of complicated meals, either. No grilling though, since he lives in a third story apt. with no balcony!

Thanks!

As a typical American family, I would be interested to see what you serve at dinner on a regular basis. What has been on your table regularly for the past years? When I think about it, I realize that I have been serving the same dishes for years.....Am I the only one?

We had a electric popcorn popper in the early 1980's that was orange color with a big plastic top & it made good popcorn. I am trying to remember what brand it was, maybe West Bend ?
