You've pretty much got a choice between cranberry, orange, grapefruit, or pineapple juice OR tonic water OR a dash of vermouth to make a martini as far as the most popular choices go.

Drink it straight with a chaser. Vodka doesnt have much of a bite to it, but milk, gatorade, cold water, or a diet cola is good. Take potassium, and a mulivitamin when drinking, less of a hangover, if you get one at all. Just answered a very simular question, so kind of tired. Take care.
By the way, drinking any juice or highly sugared mix, as in sodas, may taste real good, but will give you the hangover from hell, depending on how much you drink. Too much sugar.

Tomato or V8, celery salt, Tabasco, Worcestershire (what ever else goes in a bloody mary) with a celery stick and two green olives. Yes, Skyy vodka.

Vodka staight, with a little olive juice. And a swish of vermouth. A Dirty Martini. Don't shake w ice too much though, it destroys the compounds in the vodka.

Orange juice, cranberry juice, or pineapple juice... The citrus-y ones seem to take the edge off of the vodka. Any clear sodas are good too

I like to mix vodka with orange juice, half juice half vodka its called a screwdriver.
Its pretty good mixed with dry vermouth and some olive juice for a dirty martini!

Your best bet is 2oz citrus vodka, 1oz malibu rum and orange and pinapple juice. It's even better with 1/4oz grenadine

Straight up only when you have had a really bad day. Most of the time it is great with tonic and a lemon or lime and it has to be absolut citron.
