I'm trying to live a better lifestyle - exercising more and smarter, cutting my portion sizes and eating healthier - but one thing that I've found that is hard for me is cutting out soft drinks. I've had one or two a day for a while now, and its been hard to just drink water instead. So, while I know that I can get the caffeine I want from tea, it just isn't the same.

I know that soda - colas, especially - aren't good for you and while I've switched to diet colas (Diet Coke, specifically, since its at my work's vending machine) to cut the calories from the sodas, just how bad are these drinks for me?

I dont know, im not a doctor.

But i think the bad stuff in it is the coloring and the distilled water. Lots of people try to make the aspertame out to be poison, but studies seem to say its ok.

The chemicals in diet soda just can't be good for us. My best advise is to keep drinking water, I use to hate water, now I drink 5 or 6 bottles a day and if I don't drink it I start to crave it. We don't even bother to keep soda in the house anymore, water is it!

Good luck!

the only bad thing i hear is about aspartame..
causes all sorts of stuff, but i think you'd have to drink like 42 cans a day for it to do anything really bad? but i cant say for sure.

i love diet coke though, i guess the key is moderation.

From what I have heard, your teeth will suffer from whatever it is that is in any diet soda.
Experts have likened the ingredients to that of battery acid, so maybe you had better stick with bottled spring water....I live on that!

I don't think anyone should drink beverages made from artificial sugar and coloring. Go all natural and have a glass of juice!

Depends, if you think aspartame is bad for you then you shouldn't drink it but if you don't think aspartame is bad then drink it.
