ok, I know, it is a dumb question... but we dont have much on the way of eggs, no baking powder, and we have little sugar. Some of the recipes I have looked at call for white vinegar. Why? what does the vinegar do for the recipe? Butter we have and milk we have, but what relation does the vinegar have in the way of no eggs and no milk and no butter? serious answers only, and if you are a chef/ or in the food indistry and know what you are talking about, you get the ten points. i am tired of looking at recipe sites and seeing the white vinegar. and no, we dont have vinegar. Can i substitute lemon juice?

This question may sound so ignorant but has anybody experienced having generalized itching and redness with patches after drinking alcohol? I have tried to drink a little only twice before and was fine - didn't even get anywhere near drunk. But a few days ago, I tried a flavored vodka (contained only 5% alcohol) and consumed about 24 fl oz, then after some hours another 36 fl oz. The following day, my whole torso and thighs were covered by red patches and I was itching all over. (I didn't have any other food out of the usual that I eat). Would this be an allergic reaction to alcohol? I never heard of such a thing.

Looking for a great place to eat in Austin (Texas) --- not the regular stuff like Olive Garden or Cheesecake factory but rather some unique to Austin that all the locals know about. While I prefer Italian and Mexican food definetely open to other ideas/suggestions.

I could drink these all day! Before I buy all the expensive alcohol required, I want to make sure I have the exact recipe. Maybe an expert bartender or employee of the Cheesecake Factory can help me out. Thanks!

I have had this dream for a long time to open a saloon/honky-tonk/nightcl... on the order of the one in Coyote Ugly. I want singing and dancing girls (and of course to be one of them), lots of fun drunks, good drinks and atmosphere, along with loud music! I have no idea how to even go about attempting such a feat, but I vow that I will someday. How much do you think it would cost? Would it be difficult finding reliable help in this sort of industry? Who could I talk to about financing such a prospective business? Would I be able to be a teacher (as I plan) if I owned a place like this - even if it was in another town, county, etc.? Do you think it would be appropriate to do children's parties (I intend on it being more than scantily-clad females) and such there? How do people afford to hire bands every weekend in little places like this? Would it be wise to cater to all types of music/bands or try to focus more primarily on a few specific genres? I like them all, so that'd be tough!
