Howdy,

I worked on a fishing boat and when we caught a stray manta ray we cut the fins off while it was alive and tossed the body back in the ocean and laughed as it tried to swim off without wings.

We had to do this cause they were to big to fit down the hole.

We sold them at the dock and they made "sea scallops" out of them, but when I go onto land the fish monger says "sea"scallops are from real bivalves. I know what we did, and I KNOW we got paid for it.

WTF is going on? Are sea scallops made from skates/manta rays?

If you look at "sea scallops" notice they are HUIGE and UNIFORM - like they all got punched out from the same die.

ive been trying to find this phrase someone said last night. he called it 'a shot to honor'. its about 4-5 sentences long.

it was really funny and ive been trying to find a website that has catchy phrases to say before taking a shot. anyone know of a site like this? each time i search google for shot and honor in the same sentence i get military stuff.

I'm working with a caterer planning a wedding menu and requested beef tenderloin and he came back with "entrecote of tenderloin." I just want to be sure it's a good, top cut. Thanks.

hi all....

i recently read that parboiled rice is somewhat better than regular rice coz parboiled rice usually goes through a process where the starch in it is stabilized so basically its less starchy.

since my family eats rice regularly and i am concern of the consumption of the sugar in rice i thought of trying for parboiled rice.

when i went to a store today and looked around and saw two versions...boiled rice and parboiled rice. i asked the store staff of the difference and he said he wasnt sure but knows theres difference (obviously!).

i tried looking up online and cant seem to fine about boiled rice...its a type of rice and not a way to cook the rice.

can anyone who has used rice with the "boiled" tag with it pls shed me some light on what it is, whats the diffference, the cooking time etc...

i want to hear your opinions and thoughts on this before i buy the rice.

thank you all

Since I'm a vegetarian, I derive my protein from sources other than meat. I can't stand nuts, but I found that I like pecans. I usually mix them with cranberries or other dried fruit for some sweetness. I've been told that this snack is pretty healthy, but I was searching around the net and haven't found a clear answer. If anyone has any experience as a dietician or health professional, could you tell me how good of a snack it is or it isn't? I'm trying to lose some weight as well, so if this is really fatty or anything, please let me know. Thanks!!!

So I've decided to stuff the chicken with stuffing. And I was thinking of mashed potatos. But I'm so bored with the plain carrots and peas. Any creative ideas for veggies with this meal?
