Yes, chicken is healthy unwashed if it is cooked thoroughly. Any bacteria on the surface will be killed by the time the chicken reaches "done" temperature. (170-180 degreesF)... but I'd go ahead and rinse it anyway.

My favorite way to grill a chicken is to make it beer butt style. This is a good recipe...

Billy's Chicken Rub

This is the seasoning that goes on before the can goes in.
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon sage

Mix these ingredients and season the chicken inside and out.
Now for the beer can...

Magic Liquid in a Beer Can

Use beer, pop, or drink the beer and use water. That's what I do.
1 can
1/2 cup liquid (beer, pop, water, wine...)
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon anise seeds, crushed
1 teaspoon cracked peppercorns
juice of 2 limes

Combine these ingredients and pour them into the can. Slide the can into the chicken. Preheat the grill to medium high heat. Cook the chicken using indirect heat. It will take 1 1/2 to 3 hours for the chicken to cook. When the thigh temperature reaches 175F, it's done.

The crispy skin and juicy meat is what makes this chicken taste so good.

No there is a bacteria called Salmonella that's comes from raw chicken that's why you should always cook fully and wash and disinfect everything especially your hands after you have handled it. I would sprinkle with some Adobo or seasoning salt lightly! If not available a dash of salt, pepper, paprika, and some garlic slat or powder is good.

ALWAYS rinse your chicken in fresh, cold water; I would spray some oil on each side and sprinkle liberally with a lemon/pepper/salt combo....

I only rinse when I shake and bake. The wet makes the crumbs stick better. Heat will kill al bacteria.
