pepsi blue was my favorite soda. does anyone know if it ever has a chance of coming back, and if not, does anyone have any suggestions as to what other soda i might like similar to pepsi blue?

My usual grocery shopping stop would be at a local Safeway. The reason I shop there is because I have a family member who works for that Company, but in different City. I like Safeway because most all of the employees there are friendly, hard working people and I always get good customer service. The thing is, I do most of the food shopping while my husband works during the day. I shop at Safeway at least 3 times a week, but I try to make it at least twice a week. The thing is, employees there obviously see's me and I guess they feel threaten of me or something (by the store camera's) cause if I'm browsing an item for more than 5 mins - they'll send a random employee, pretending to be scanning random items behind me or next to me. It's weird. What do you guys think?

I've never gotten one (personally, I'm scared that I'll turn it up to high or that batter and stuff will splatter all over the place), and sadly enough I don't even have a whisk (for beating things, being Asian, we use chopsticks, it works just as well most of the time). When I made cookies today (not the cut-out ones), although they came out fine, compared to how long it should take, these took twice as long because rather than using a mixer, I basically counted on folding everything to get it done.

Does anyone have an alternative to electric mixers? Seriously, I'm scared of them!

I'm also open to little tips that are irrelevant to the question (beginner at baking).

Okay... does anyone have any quick and easy recipes? Mine is Apple Crisp... here is the recipe (hope you like it ) :O)

Filling:
15 to 20 apples, in a variety of brands, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup cinnamon and sugar mixture
1/2 to 1 cup apple cider or orange juice

Topping:
2 cups bleached flour
2 cups sugar
2 sticks cold margarine

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Layer sliced apples into an ungreased 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mixture in between each layer. Use enough cinnamon and sugar to cover each layer. Once apples are to the top of the pan, cover with final layer of cinnamon and sugar and then pour either your apple cider or orange juice over the entire mixture.

Mix the 3 toppings ingredients together with a mixer until it is crumbly. Cover the apples with the topping. Bake for 45 minutes. Cool and serve.

I tried about 10 different recipes.
Several times they dissolved in the boiling water (too little flour?)
When I added more flour, they were hard & tasted really gummy & gross.

Why can't they be tender little morsels? What am I doing wrong?

I live in Los Angeles and I've missed 2 appearances so far. One by Iron Chef Morimoto and another by Iron Chef Cora.
Im a big fan and so is my girlfriend and I would love to get an autograph from any of the Iron Chefs, so if anyone knows of a way I could go about doing that, it would be really cool. Let me know if you know if any appearances or anyplace I can go to find a schedule of some sort. Thanks!
