I was at Boston Pizza with some friends over this past weekend and they have what's called a "Twisted Rocket" - like the old red, white and blue popsicles they used to sell (actually I think they do still sell them.)

It's a layered drink (obviously) and I believe it contains the following layers:

Crushed, smooth ice with lemonade at the bottom mixed with raspberry purée and Smirnoff Razz Twist Vodka (red layer.)

Crushed, smooth ice with lemonade in the middle (white layer.)

Crushed, smooth ice with lemonade at the top mixed with Blue Curacao (blue layer.)

My friend got this drink and she asked me to try it first - and it tastes just like the popsicle. I don't make this drink where I work but it's definitely something that I'll mention to my supervisor.. not bad for a frozen drink at all.

At work the Blue Lagoons we make are ordered often, although they are a little sweet. We've slightly changed our ingredients recently and it seems to have helped in sales of the drink.. but I think it came more from the advertising we were doing behind the bar.

So starting off with a glass filled with ice (no we don't fill the glass with ice to rip you off btw, we do it to get the right spirit-to-mix ratio.. ;) )

1 1/2 shots (or ounces) of Malibu
1/2 shot of Triple Sec or Cointreau
1/2 glass Pineapple Juice
1/2 glass Lime-Ade (Bar Lime Mix)
Splash of Mango Juice (this is something I do to add a bit of additional flavor, it's not required though.)

Pour the contents into a shaker tin and shake (if you don't have one, you can try putting another glass on top and shake, just be careful to make sure nothing goes all over the place.) Pour the contents back into the glass and float with Blue Curacao.

If you're planning on serving it to someone else, garnish it with a lime or lemon wheel and add a straw.

This is a tough question to answer - It really depends on your personal preference. Do you like strong, light, sweet, sour? It really is about personal taste.
I enjoy a nice dry wine - low sugar content (zero). On a hot day, a cold beer tastes great (but not American beer...you might as well drink water if you are drinking American beer!)
If I want something a bit sweet, I will have a mojito - this is a light rum and sugar mix, with fresh mint leaves.
Have fun experimenting!

an incredible hulk--(hpnotiq and hennesey)--yum
any drink with bombay sapphire gin (you can mix this with koolaid and it is still good)
any mixed drink with malibu rum
or a Death Row (warning...not for the faint of heart)
- 1 part(s) Absolut Vodka
- 1 part(s) Absolut Citron
- 1 part(s) Absolut Mandarin
- 1 part(s) Triple Sec
- 1 part(s) Amaretto
- 1 part(s) Sloe Gin
- 1 splash(es) 7-Up

Directions/Comments: Mix equal parts of liquors together, pour over ice, and top it off with a splash of 7-Up. Tastes great but sneaks up on you towards the end of the night!

and if all else fails, Corona with lime.

wait...have I gone too far?

I agree with Dukalink6000, Grand Marnier! And the jerk "Star" that dissed American beer has no taste at all. The best selling beer in Germany is "Budweiser" an American beer. The worst tasting beers are produced in third world countries that he must be familiar with.

A good hearty red wine with all the flavours. Besides a good Champagne is always a highlight!

IMHO, a single malt Scotch from the Isle of Islay.

You might prefer a Highland Malt. If so, more power to you! Highland malts are also very good. :)
