I understand that the 'real' reason for lime in mexican beer bottles is because the beercaps are put on by hand - and that the purpose of the lime, is to disinfect the top of the beer bottle. I've been told this a couple of times, but when I tell someone else, it's a first for them. What's the real story?

I want to have my mother-in-law and her boyfrined over for supper and need ideas fast! The boyfriend is watching his carb intake and my MIL doen't like many veggies. The ones she does like are peas, corn, and potatoes (carbs). I need something cheap and easy that will please our guests.

Due to my traning program, I eat a lot of egg whites to obtain protein. About 140 each month. Rather than constantly throw out the yolks, I've thought about trying Lana's Egg Whites.

Have any of you used them? An 8 lb tub = 165 egg whites = 12-13 dozen, and cost $30. Are there other brands which cost less? Or is this the most resonable other than seperating them myself?

I'm going on a 4-hour trip with beer and liquer in the trunk. Today is 94 degrees out. The beer will be in a rubbermaid container with ice packs. Is this okay or will the drinks go bad? The drinks have not been previoulsy refridgerated and was stored in a cool place.

....from people at my work. Everyone bugged me to have this big bash. So of course, I spent all this money on food & liqour (which i really didnt have) and everone said theyd be there. Noone showed up & didnt even have the decency to call. All except for 5 people! What should i say to them that'll make them feel like crap? I'm sold on the Reidel wine glasses. I never would have believed that the right glass enhances wine that much.

For example, sometimes at a dinner party, I'll have a guest who asks me to change their individual serving so that they don't get a certain ingredient (or want extra of a certain thing.)
