Take a look at the menu from the Russian Tavern in Columbia, SC to get some idea.

I spent a lovely evening there before I left SC three years ago, and the food was incredible! Wish I could go there for dinner tonight!

SOUPS - one of the common soups is called Borshch, made with beets, carrots, and tomatoes
MEATS - Pork is most common, usually well seasoned with herbs and spices. a Pork Sausage, Kovbasa is similar to Kielbasa (Polish) which is well known.
Stroganov -is a Russian meat + vegetable dish.
FISH is well liked in Russia. if you eat caviar - it may have come from the Russian Sturgeon
VEGETABLES - Cabbage, beets are staples. Mushrooms are popular
BREADS & CAKES - abundant, often made with honey and nuts. And of course there is a course dark russian bread that you are probably familiar with.

Um, I think Russia not have the cuisine, such as France, Italy ... we have separate meals brought from different countries at different times, if you go to Moscow you can find a variety of national restaurants that offer their dishes .. there are soups, fish dishes, different potato, pasta, oatmeal .. sandwiches (Butterbrots) in the morning, scrambled eggs, yogurt, etc..

Fish eggs, caviar with bilinis and vodka as an appetizer. Also, chicken stew encased in a pastry like shell. Not sure what it's called. Look it up.

It depends on the region. One of my favorites is hot (spicy) shredded beets that a Ukranian friend of mind made for me.
