my friend is in love with me and i dont feel the same way how do i tell him i dont like him and keep our friend ship and not break his heart

When I was in high school I dated a guy named John Doe, we were together for around 2 yrs. I hurt John Doe very badly, then left him for a guy we'll call Tom Doe. I was with Tom Doe for 7 years. Two years ago I left Tom Doe and about 1 year ago I called John Doe. John Doe ended up driving a long way to see me and spent the night with me. It was so cool. But afterwards John Doe wouldn't talk much, he said he didn't know about getting back with me and I finally quit calling him because I thought it was pointless. John Doe was never rude but wouldn't answer phone anymore so I quit calling. I'm still hoping John Doe will one day forgive me and be with me. What do you think will happen eventually? Am I wasting my time?

I think it is a good question but they withdrew it so I'll ask it.

Is it easier to have someone end a friendship/relationship with you by just cutting off all communication or is it better if they give you a reason.

I think it hurts more to have someone just stop calling you and talking to you and not give any reason. I've heard guys would rather chew their arm off than give a girl the real reason they want out. But if you don't tell us why we will drive ourselves crazy wondering what we did wrong when you could just tell us (as kindly as possible).

If we are high maintenance or irritating we're going to be the same way with the next guy we see unless we know we have issues we need to work on.

I am going through something like this now. He has not cut off all communication but won't talk about anything to do with us or how he feels about me. I would rather him tell me than guess why he calls and guess what things mean.

So guys just tell us---we can take it!

ok I guess I'll just have to give up now. nothing is probably going to work out. I probably shouldnt even try to say anything to the guy I said I liked. because I already messed up everything when I didnt talk to him in class while I had a chance. this is probably about the second or third time I've messed up on guys I would have liked to got to know. Gonna give as many details as poss. I am in a class, and we sit by each other. He's a football player, I'm a 'jock' too but in a lower social division. It's one of those out of the league problems. Now, usually I can deal with that but he is EXTREMELY HOTT. The kind of hott where you ask anyone, they say "I don't know him but I hear he's extremely hott." I think he likes me but it's iffy, he may just think of me as a friend. I keep hoping....So how do I get him?

I just moved about three weeks ago, and at my school there is a guy I met named Nick...he would wave and smile, make me feel welcome, and showed me around. We've been together 6 yrs. Last night another fight. He says bad things to me and says that most of our problems are my fault. He's emotionally cheated on me, not sure if it was more than that or not. Phone calls went on for a year with this other girl. He's insecure when it comes to my ex-husband, says he hates him. My ex lives 5 doors down from my parents and is still friends w/my family, which my boyfriends resents to the max.
