my boy friend gave me a really nice necklace, but i broke up with him the nixt day. should i give it back to him or not?

You must of known that you was going to break up with him. To keep the necklace would be so wrong. Give it back to him. You should have never accepted it in the first place. It's the right thing to do. Give it back that way there will not be any attachments and it will tell him it's really is over.

Give it back to him. Things were not going well between you when he gave it to you and maybe he thought it would be like a peace offering. Since you broke up with him the very next day, I wouldn't keep it. Plus, you'll feel icky every time you wear it.

if YOU break up with him and it's an engagement ring - probably should give it back. However, it was a necklace given to you - it was a gift, so you don't have to give it back unless you don't want to be reminded of him every time you wear it.

Yes! Did you break up with him the day after Christmas or something? It makes it seem like you just stuck it out with him for the gifts then dumped him.

Was it just a gift....or was it a committment-type gift? If it was a gift to symbolize his committment to you (and at the same time, yours to him by wearing it), then yes, you should most definitely offer to give it back. If it was a gift, then no, you are not required to give it back. Either way, you can offer....and leave it up to him as to whether or not he wants it back......Good Luck!!

Its just a necklace not a ring. If its a very expensive one, then give it back, if not just keep it

This is a tough one. I say you should ask him if he wants it back. Sure, it's yours now, but he gave it to you because of the relationship you were in. Since you're out of it right afterwards....ask him what he thinks. Good luck ^_^

No, it was a gift. If you want to stay friends though and he asks for it back, give it back to maintain common ground
