I have been dating a very attractive and fairly nice woman for over a year. There have been some rough periods--I think it has to do with the fact that she was sexually abused as a child. After the child abuse, she had a series of abusive relationships. Sometimes she lashes out at me and gives me the cold shoulder without warning. She doesn't have any close friends. I think I'm the only person who's really close to her-other than her mom. There are times though that I think I can't handle this and want to move on. At other times, there appears to be hope for the future. I am torn. I wonder if this is worth all of the ups and downs.

I am recently divorced, I am interested in finding a new love but, the thought of living with someone again, getting used to their stuff, having them get used to mine and all that makes me unsettled. I once heard of a couple who lived in a urban area and they got married and had been married when I heard the story for something like 5-6 yrs. They kept their individual apartments and loved the arrangement. Is this so weird?

So I have a thing for this guy I used to work with. We still talk even thought he doesn't work there anymore, but I can't really tell if he's interested at all as anything more than friends. We're pretty good friends, but not like best friends or anything, and I want to tell him that I like him as more than a friend. But I don't want anything to be weird because I like being his friend, and don't want him to not talk to me. On top of it, I don't want to feel stupid if I tell him and he's not at all interested...So my question is do I tell him at all? And if so, what is a good way to tell him without making anything weird? Is there a way to make sure that we stay the friends we are even if this feeling is not mutual?

My g/f was raped(see other ?) and since then she has said that she wants to have sex, like b4. I don't want to tho b/c she still needs to get over what happened. Should I give in to her?? Will it help her heal??
I don't want to make everything harder, but she says she feels bad cuz our relationship is not as much "fun" as b4. I tried to tell her I feel our relationship is better, but she doesn't believe me.

i've met a man who is older than me. well, he's about my father's age. at first i haven't thought about having a relationship with him. but after i have hnown him closely i realised that he is a special person, that he knows many things and makes me feel very confortable when i'm with him.
but he told me that he wanted us to be more than friends and confessed he's in love with me.
i didn't really know how to react because i wasn't expecting to it, so i didn't answer for the moment . i'm very attached to him, maybe as a father, maybe as a friend or a lover i don't seem to realize it now.
but, anyway, this feeling is very confusing because, no matter what kind of feeling it might be, i care about him and i wouldn't like us to drift apart.
my friends say that he's too old for me and i should get out with guys of my age, because i might regret years after.
but would it be wrong to have a relationship with an older man? could this affect our friendship?

ok, i am in my 20s and i am friends w/ a guy in his 50s that likes me.. im sure of it. he flirts, has called my house,cellphone, makes it an effort to say and do things to show me he is interested. anyways, due to all of the attention i developed a small crush on him.. i also got tired of all of the "games" and flirting so i told him that we should stay away from each other.. well i saw him the other day and we resumed our friendship, and he was willing to be my friend again , even though i was the one who initially wanted to part friendship w/ him. now when he sees me he is reserved and he acts really weird. like you can tell that he likes me still but he is trying to hide it and the other day when i was about to leave the mall(thats where i saw him) he ran out and followed me from the store we were in, ran thru the parking lot, past about 100 cars to get to me... just to tell me that i had forgotten something that he could have given to his sister to give to me later(she lives by me)

I get the impression that women nowadays (especially the younger set) are much more slutty than they used to be. After a few relationships with really wholesome women, I took a good four years off of dating anyone. Now I am ready to get back into it and it just seems there is nothing out there that has not already been emotionally and physically used up. I know that sounds harsh, but am I right or do I need to work on my perception?

met nice guy on personals says he does not have time not for me due to his career and elderly parents being ill and having to spend all of his time taking of them. He has never been married before and parents live with him.

My g/f was raped a few months ago(not by me) and ever since then has only worn big baggy clothes that don't show off her hot body. Is this normal?? Why does she do this??She got consuling.
She reported the guy too.
Why isn't she ok with her body anymore?? She even quit gymnastics so she wouldn't have to wear leotards anymore.
Does she blame herself and is trying to change herself b/c of this??

My girlfriend and I have been going out for almost 5 months(aniversery right after xmas) and we have realized that throughout most of our relationship we have just given up our own ideas and attempted to make the other happy. Sometimes we could see breif periods of pure happyness where it worked perfectly, but almost since the begining all we have been trying to do is change the other and just giving in to make the other happy. We now realized this, but we dont know what to do about it, we utterly need to find us.

We have contemplated several options

we could break up, but that would hurt alot, and it might not b useful because we still might b meant for each other

we could take a break, find us and get back together to see how it works out, but that would hurt alot, and we might not b able to think under that pain

we could just continue like this, but that wouldnt help either of us find who we are and make sure we are meant for each other

we would desprately like another option
