He's abusing her by treating her so badly.Chances are good that an individual's personality changes into a better one,Not a bad one though. My personality development began after my break up.
But in your friend's case all the blame of bieng called a bad person has come from her abuser.I guess he is such a wierd personality that he sees others through his own vision, your friend shouldnt be bothered by his comments.

Yeah it's possible, I used to be a kind, sensitive young man. My last breakup has turned me into an angry, repressed alcoholic.

But this guy sounds like a real asshat, the easiest way out of a relationship is to convince yourself the other person is not very nice.

no your friend did not change, she was with a very abusive and manipulative person, he is a game player and needs to be called out for his actions, You might ask your friend to get counselling, as some women are prone to keep finding that sort of man, best of luck

I jjust know that if my boyfriend broke up with me I would be really different too. I would not have the security I once had. I would not be able to trust another guy and it would kind of harden me and make me lonely and sad.

It sounds like to me that he has a problem...
He is the one that is changing cause he went from caring to criticizing.........
She has nothing to worry about.... Cause people can see right through him; They can see that he is playing a childish game with her by telling everyone all these lies...

It happened to me. My failed non-relationship with a guy turned me from a lonely, needy wimp to a full-blooded, nearly misandrist ultra-feminist. And don't it feel good.
