I have been dating my bf for the past year and a half. I think he is an amazing guy when he is not active. He has been through an inpatient program and is now entering a longer one. I am still not sure that he has hit his bottom and is not just doing this to avoid years of jail time. I am attending alanon and private counseling which help a little but I sitll have faith that he can do it. He is a very smart guy and very talented. I don't want to give up but others are telling me its hopeless. I have gone to NA Meetings and heard others share their stories of being clean for years 20+. I think if others can, he can for sure. I know I am powerless over his addiction/recovery, but should I be supportive? Should I wait? What else can I do to get help while he is going through this?

I'm pretty shy. I've never really been outgoing but now that I have a daughter I have tended to be even more withdrawn. I am 24 I really need to put down my insecurities and talk to people and make some new friends. I've changed alot since having a child and my old friends are not exactly responsible or compatable anymore-not to say I won't talk to them or be their friends.

Am not high class yet but i want a girl of class to help me keep focus on my goal( stay in high class) most girls around me don,t have ambition. They are just content with getting laid and shelter. I got married 1 year ago and my M-in law lives with us because my husband is the only son so he takes care of her, but she gets in our business all the time she basically rules in the house, everytime we fight is beacuse of something to do with her. So the other day she got into an aurgument we had and I asked her not to get into our business. so she got mad and told my husband that I was the worst person in the world, that I hated her that I never do anything for her and so many horrible things that are not true, I started crying and told her that that wasnt true, and she started laughing at me and told me to F** off, and saying that I was False. And what hurt me the most is that my husband was there and did nothing, Instead he said it was my fault his mom was mad for telling her to not get in our business. I feel very depressed I dont wish this to anyone its the most horrible thing to see that I am nothing to my husband, But I love him should I try to forget and pretend I am happy?

Ok this might sound confusing but this is NOT why i did this. When my friend walked in the door, i had us go around the other way to the computer so we wouldn't walk in front of my step dad. I keep replaying the whole thing in my head and wondering if i did it because he will think she is fat and then when we walked to my room, i wondered what he'd say. Now, no matter what someone looks like. if they are purple,pink, blue, black, white, too short or too tall, 50 lbs. or 500 lbs. i will still care about them and be their friend but it bugs me about what i just said. Now ocd comes in where it bugs me and i keep obsessing i actually went through another part of the house so he wouldn't see us and wondered what he'd think when he saw her. Thanks for reading

and has the remaining 4 days off. I work 5 days a week (50 hrs) at my job. She plays around on thursday and friday going shopping (for clothes not food), watching TV, getting her hair done...and she leaves all the housework for the weekend...then she gets mad because she has too much work to do on the weekend. I help her out some, but I don't think it should be a 50-50 split. Should I feel guilty not helping her with all the housework on the weekends? There is only about 1-1.5 days worth of housework to do. I think since she works half the hours I do, she should make up the difference by doing the housework, and if she chooses to leave it until the weskend, that is her decision she needs to live by.

Am I being taken advantage of here?
