Six people have been indicted by a state grand jury on charges they participated in the sale of New Jersey driver licenses to people who were not authorized to get one, including illegal immi grants, the state Division of Criminal Justice announced.
The alleged ringleader of the effort was Steve A. Gonzalez, 26, of Hamilton. He allegedly worked with Darnell L. Brickers, 37, of Trenton, a clerk at the regional Motor Vehicle Commission office in downtown Trenton.
Brickers was suspended without pay after the state police ar rested him in February 2005, along with Gonzalez and suspects Jose A. Conde-Hernandez, 39, formerly of Princeton, and Jose E. Chacon, 34, of North Plainfield.
Since those arrests, authorities have charged two more suspects in the case: Gonzalez's sister, Yessica O. Gonzalez, 28, of Trenton and Danielson T. Munoz, 36, of Tren ton.
Yessica Gonzalez is a senior clerk in the state Department of Law & Public Safety in Trenton,
