It's not my family, and I am not a child.

Laugh...nobody that knows me would even CONSIDER issuing me an ultimatum like that!

That is actually a very stupid thing for any parent to do. It will challenge the kids loyalty and 9 times out of 10 they will choose the bf/gf even if they know the person is wrong for them. If parents just chill, a bad relationship will run its course. It is hard to see your child in possible danger, but it is better than losing them completely.

Depends on what the boyfriend was like. My now boyfriend and I are probably going to get engaged soon, so no way. If it was a guy who I liked, but had alot of problems with then yes. Family is very important to me.

It ALL depends on WHY. Why would they ask this and why don't they like him? Plus, how long you guys have been together, does he like your family, do your friends mesh well? Does his family like you? If it's just something you aren't able to do or whatever; don't do or say anything. I've always learned "if you don't know what to do, don't do anything" That's a serious comand your family is asking from you.

I would ask them their reasons why they did not like them and take it into serious consideration. Family should always come first. I don't imagine that they would want you to break it off if they did not have some serious concerns.

I would dump him, family usually sees what you can't see, blinded by love, lust or whatever you want to call it. Family is only looking out for your best interest, unless your family is crazy or prejudice or something like that.

Yes only because I will not be with someone who my family doesn't like.

My family is dead and buried on the other side of the planet. So I'd go to the shrink.

If this guy is really and truely worth it and you are sure you arn't with him because he irritates your parents. so if he truely deserves you. Tell your family that you lovethem. But this is your life and it is up t o bhem to deal with it or not. tell them you need them
