I have been dating an african american man for about a year and a half, I am white. I wouldn't really say that we are in love but we are pretty involved. In the past six months I have told my family and they are against having inter-racial kids and thats all they think about. I don't see a problem with inter-racial kids but even more than that we aren't plannin to have kids.. I really like him and I am not lettin race come between us I was just wondering what I can do to make my family a little more open minded..

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE

1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate soft cheese, shell fish, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cots were covered with bright coloured lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking .

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.

Riding 2 up on your bike was a way of life.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared a bottle of pop with four friends, all drank from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank fizzy drinks with SUGAR in it, but we weren't overweight because......

WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!! NOT IN FRONT OF A TV AND PLAYING VIDEO GAMES!!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem .

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no text messaging, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents .

We played with worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

The boys were given toy guns for their 10th birthdays,

made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out anyones eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!

The local team had tryouts and not everyone got in. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned

HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!

And YOU are one of them!

CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.

and while you are at it, forward it to anyone born from 1980 onwards so they will know how brave you are!!!

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

Ok, so there's this girl with who I'm very close friends with, I mean we talk everyday and we care about each other. And so the other day, I met her boyfriend for the first time, and she told me that her boyfriend is a little bit jealous of me.
What do you think this means?
Why do u think this man is jealous of her girlfriends friend?
Becuase, really, if anyone should be jealous it's me.

Your 15 yo kid was doing bad and dangerous stuff and you had to give a somewhat severe punishment, thinking you were doing your best. She changed her behavior, left bad companies, and today you're proud of her, An honor student, good friends, does a lot of good things, but, unfortunately, extremely resentful. Respectful, but distant, like a stranger. Avoids her parents, avoids any activity with them, unless forced. Doesn't see her parents as loving parents, says they didn't love and forgive her when she need them most, keeps dwelling on the past. And this for months and months, suggesting t'll keep going for years, years, years.. She refuses to talk, unless forced, and them just repeats the same things. A great girl, but like an statue.
How to deal with this? Can this carry on to adulthood? Should she punished? I don't think so. Should we reward her for her good actions, despite her resentful behavior? She says her resentful behavior is her undenibale right.

the guy i like is really shy and had been flirting with me for about a year. when i was hanging out with a group of friends, his best friend (who would obviously know in advance) asked who he liked... and he just shrugged, but i could see his face turn red. so everytime he named someone my crush would give him a look that screamed "where'd you get that from?!"... but when he came to my name, he didn't do anything. his friend didn't seem too suprised. instead, he asks me "do you want to go out with ___? i know you do... " we were all silent and i didn't know what to do- i was in a state of shock. well, the guy i liked said that his friend was just joking, but he said it with a shaky voice.
a few days went by before the guy i like started to talk to me again.

so my question is... was he trying to ask me out?

I am an Indian (living in US) and my first marriage was love marriage which was not successful due to incompatibilites. Is it okay to get remarried in an arranged way now? Is it like getting a life partner is a difficult task (I am well settled, and simple person) for a guy who was married once. Is it good to look for an Indian girl who is already in US or look for someone in India? Should I look for only divorced girls, or can I also look for unmarried girls. Do unmarried girls get married to divorced young guys who are well settled. Thanks you friends in advance for your answers.

Thanks.

All of a sudden, I am being completely ignored by everyone in my family. I walk round my house trying to talk to either my mum or my brothers and they just give me dirty looks and tell me to go away. I've tried asking what I've done wrong and they just shout and swear at me. Please help me, it's really upsetting me.

There is this guy and he walks me to all my classes and becuz I am a dedicated Athlete I run Home(over 1.6 miles). He always runs with me.He asked me out one day but I said I was busy so he says if we could a different day. My friend says he is only gonna use me cuz she has had bad past experiences(she was raped) and thinks I am still a virgin(But I'm not). I can kick his *** at a race(I race cars) and he still comes back. He comes to all my games/meets and thinks it is so cool that I can snowboard, rok at lax, do gymnastics and still be top of my class. Do you think he is serious about wanting a real relationship?? I don't need no more fake guys. Why do guys only want to use gymnasts for sex?? Should I say yes??
Should I listen to my friend?? I like him but she makes him seem so bad.
