My husband's sister lives out of town. She is his only immediate family. We have been exchanging Xmas gifts for the kids. In the beginning, we didn't have kids--so it was a little easier. Now there are 7 kids, and it's getting hard to find presents--toys are repeating, clothes not needed, and older kids wants being more expensive. What happens is we end up asking what everyone wants/ needs/sizes/colors...etc. Then if it isn't right, it becomes a hassle because we are about a 1000 miles apart. This year I suggested giving the older kids gift cards and that they might like to go pick out something they wanted. My sister in law seems open to change, but said it was too much like swapping money. She suggested to set a dollar amount, buy and wrap presents, put our names on it. I know gift cards aren't personal, but I thought at least they could get cards from favorite stores. My new idea is to a $20 small Xmas gift idea and focus on making each kid's bday more special. Thoughts?

we are email penpals and fell in love over the summer but are kinda related and see eachother every year, we're friends.
he's 18 i'm 16.
he used 2 email alot now he is taking loonger and loonger to respond and i keep asking what's keeping him busy and he keeps giving different excuses.
the thing is i love him and want 2 marry him someday, i'm obsessed w/ him, i try not but.....

k. She is a 14 year old girl. She buys all her cloths from yard sales, never from stores. She is really cheap. Everything is about money with her. She never lends any of her friends money, not even a quarter! She expects her friends to pay for her and also expects her friends to give her cloths! She talks behind my back all the time. One time i confronted her and she says she goes with the flow and never sticks up for me! When we get into fights, she doesnt speak much and usually curls up in a corner and crys. A couple minutes later she is fine with everything like nothing happened. She cannot be left alone anywhere like the mall by herself. I cannot avoid her because shes my neighbor. What do you think? Is she a friend?

My co workers daughter is in middle school. Last week she was falsely accused of cheating on a test.The teacher humiliated the girl to tears in front of the class, even put her hands on her, the girl walked away, the teacher grabbed her again and tried to reach in her pockets!!!..it turned out she was NOT trying to cheat.There was a conference with the teacher, the mom, the girl and the principal. I asked the mother what she planned to do about it within the school, and she just said "Nothing, we already had a meeting with the principal, I do not want to embarass the teacher any more, I will just leave the poor woman alone" The teacher admitted she felt the girl was cheating but totally denied grabbing her. Other kids in the class did verify the teacher grabbed the girl.After what the teacher did to her daughter, why the h--- is she worried about hurting the teacher's feelings? It was proven that the girl was not cheating, she does not get in any trouble in school, and is quite shy.

I have been divorced for the last 6 years now and my daughter is almost 12. I get asked out on dates but, I choose not to go out.
