I have been divorced for the last 6 years now and my daughter is almost 12. I get asked out on dates but, I choose not to go out. I was involved with a man right after my divorce it lasted 4 yrs. and I've been single for the last two years. I don't know what is wrong with me I want to go out but, on the other hand I don't want all the drama involved in having a relationship.

Sounds like you've answered your own question..."you don't want all the drama". The thing is, with a 12 year old child, nobody's going to ask you out for kicks and giggles. They know you have a child, guess you're divorced, that's going to have an affect on who asks you out (not from a quality standpoint, but from a "type" standpoint). The (unfair) assumption is that you date for keeps, so you're going to attract those who are ready to get serious, and it could be that most of what you are attracting right now are more desperate men.

My question would be, what is the source of all these guys? How are you meeting them? Then find a way to get in a different social setting (still mom acceptable, of course). It could be the circles in which you mingle are filled with these types of guys, and the "fun" ones are elsewhere.

If you don't want drama line out the parameters with the guys who ask you out and then if they break the rules dump them. Drama seems to follow some people around and you can help by staying away from those people and not causing any of your own.
