There's this guy who's asked me out, he's perfect and an old mate which I think is a great bonus, this would be my first major relationship (i'm nearly 18 btw). However in the past i've always prevented telling my parents cos we're not an emotional family (we don't hug etc...) and I didn't really see anything going on with the relationships to warrant all the questions taht they're bound to ask. This one is different and I definitely see a great relationship for the future. I would like to get to form our relationship first before he's introduced to my parents cos I tend to feel very uncomfortable when my parents and friends are together cos they tend to be very nosy.
Would it be unreasonable to maybe not tell them about him until I feel that it's heading somewhere?
Also how would you as a guy feel if your gf turned around and said exactly what i've said?
I know it sounds selfish not including my parents but I don't like the uncomfortable feeling taht I often get with my parents.

What can I do to make my friends do the things I want to do, to go to places where I want them to go with me and to agree with me more often? It seems that, although they are good friends, sometimes they just don't want to listen to me, they don't understand me and they don't take my opinions into consideration.

What can I do to improve this situation (I'd like some advices in manipulating them a little)? I'm not a mean person, I just want to be respected more.

Today, I attended a soccer game for my 7 years old son.
His father (my ex) never saw him play this season and he decided to come and spend the day with us on the field.

Once there, I was chatting a little (20% of the time), cheering much (80%) with the mothers of the other players (I saw them twice a week, every week during summer).

After I was done talking with others, my ex politely told me that I was making my son sad when I was not watching him play.

I asked my son if he was sad when I was not watching and he did not notice, he was having fun. Games were for fun... nothing competitive.

What do you think? Should I take his advice and ignore others when my son is on the field playing any sports?

Do you think it's teaching them financial responsibility, or are you just spoiling them?

If a guy was lonely and wanted to talk to a female are the chances that he would find one that would be willing to call him good or bad? What if he was willing to call her? Would it matter if he was very handsome and had a nice deep voice? Do women consider those things or do they need to see a picture?

As I have done in the past, I am once again accusing him of cheating. There is no evidence that he has ever or is now being less than faithful. My accusations are based entirly on my own insecurities and unfounded suspicions. He is now as he has been in the past angered and offended at the accusations. Many of you helpful answerers have told me that his anger at my alligations toward him are a sign of guilt. If he is now at his wits end and so angry with my blowing this (basically nothing) way out of proportion, that is within a fraction of an inch of dumping me, does that mean he is extra guilty this time ? Or is he just sick and tired of the same old twisted sh...it ?

About a year ago my wife and I decided to move out of state.. we spent almost 4g to do it and one of the main driving forces in the decision is that her parents lived where we were moving to.
About a month and a half after getting where we were going she got mad and left me.. we hadnt had the best marriage but far from the worst. I said and did some really horrible things to her but she did the same. so now I live a thousand miles away from everything ive ever known.. her parents (The only people I know in the area) wont have anything to do with me.. she moved back to the state we came from..left me with all the debt and bills.. and is telling me its over. What are the chances that a marriage in this condition might have a chance of being restored? I was supposed to go to counseling and all that which I never did.. only after she really left have I taken that seriously. I want to know what I should do to get her to change her mind and come home. This is so incredibly lonely.. HELP!!!!

I know. Time. But, still, how much do you hate it when you think back and you KNOW this person wasn't right for you, you didn't get along more than you did get along, but you still find yourself looking at their picture and just wishing maybe you could get one more day to try again.

*sigh*

Or maybe I'm just being sentimental. I dunno.

Actually, I am trying to figure out what to call this behavior.
I have to admit I am not such a good face to face communicator. I rather not talk for a while to the person & try to forget about the problem.

Now, let's say something goes wrong with this person (my ex, father of my children) and I decide to talk to him about the situation.
We end up never talking about it because if we set up a date to discuss, he will have something better to do on that day, his car will be at the garage or because it's never the time (we're having a good time or there are people around).. any excuse is good to dodge a 'serious' conversation with me.

To this day, I am still accumulating unresolved problems for the past 9 years now, with him. I am frustrated. We never resolve anything. I tried email. I don't want to be at war with him. The problems are not vital...
What do you call this behavior?
And how can I nail him down to have a serious discussion with him?

My friend has had a history of bad relationships. For some reason the guy always seems great, but ends up treating her badly. I'm not sure if she attracts the wrong guys or doesn't leave because she is so used to the bad treatment. As her friend, I don't want to get mad at her or tell her what to do, but I want to help her end this cycle of bad men in her life. Last night she called me crying because she went home from the bar with a guy whom she used to have a thing with, who always treated her like dirt. Same old story last night, he slept with her, then hid her clothes, all while his friends were laughing, basically threw her out with no money, just her pants and a jacket and forced her to walk home, which was a pretty far walk. She knows she shouldnt see guys like this, and I've told her that as well but what can I do to help her without preaching or trying to be her mom? All of my other friends do that and she hates it, and has closed them off. What should I do?
