I have been single for about 3 years. I never meet anyone I would consider dating. I just feel I will always be single and never truly get over my ex. I was almost over him then 1 year ago he called from Iraq and told me he was engaged. I hadn't spoke to him for 6 months prior to that and on my way to getting over him. I don't understand why he needed to contact me if he had moved on. We spoke the whole time he as there and I saw him when he came back and told him it wasn't fare to me or her to keep talking. He kept calling so I changed my phone #. Anybody been through anything like this?

Is it wrong to want to set "standards" for the next person that I may meet. Should I expect them to bring something to the table financially speaking since I do? Is that shallow?

I've been in many bad relationships, and I'm just starting to wonder, are there any nice guys that will approach a pretty girl with loads of guys after her? It seems that all the nice guys are scared to tell me when they're interested, and all the guys that approach me are cocky a**holes that think they can have me because they tell me they have a 12 inch dick. I'm just so tired of all my friends saying I get approached by assholes because I'm pretty. Are attractive girls really that intimidating to nice guys?

I liked a guy. He liked me back. he asked me to be his girlfriend but I freaked out and said no..because at that point in my life i could not have handled a bf...but now I AM..and i've realized what kind of a great guy he is and etc..so he moved on..and i am moving on and dating other people but he is in the back of my mind. i dont know if he has anybody because we are not talking anymore.
the question: i know i will be having the same courses with him..and im thinking of just trying to become friends..or maybe more?! Is that true that if you liked someone a LOTTTT....you will still have kind of warm feelings towards a person? can you "turn back time" and start from sq 1? love has no history...is that so? thanks.

I am the american who is illegal in Ireland. To answer a few of the questions some of you asked me and to give you a better idea of what I'm up against I'll elaborate. For one I have my U.S. Passport. I am from Florida and was born and raised in the United States. I traveled here when I was 18 to get away from my father and his demands and ended up meeting a guy and wanting to live here. Seeing as how I was so young I had very little to recommend me for a work permit so I stayed illegaly to be with him. I will be 20 years old in September. I have not worked here. I have never commited a crime in my life so I have no warrants either here or in the U.S for my arrest. As far as I know there is no red flag in this country, especially for american citizens so I'm not really worried about them banning me from the country for too long a period. I'm just making sure that I'll be able to pay for my ticket and just go home. If they want to ask me questions that's fine. As long as I get home.

I have two guys in my life. One who I have known for about two years(we'll just call him AM), and one who I have recently began seeing as more than just friends (we'll call him BB). AM and I have gone out before and we ended it on a sour note. BB and I met through my best friend and she thinks that we shouldn't go out. Well, when BB and I started hanging out, AM started wanting to hang out with me more than ever. So AM started treating me like BB does and now I have to choose between the two before I get into trouble with the two. AM and I ended because he was too much for me and was always wanting me to do things that I didn't want to do. BB isn't like that and will never presure me into anything that I don't want to do. I can't choose and I can't really ask anyone who knows the two. HELP!!!

This guy told my best friend I was cute and funny and smart and he said he knew I liked him, but he thought of my as "just a friend" (Classic, right?). Whenever I'm around him he starts to whisper to his friend or is uneasy and there is major tension. After or during the time he is whispering to his friend, he glances my way until I catch him looking. I can't help but have a feeling he might have just told my friend that or because he said it is now REALLY uneasy. What do you think? Am I just over examining things and paranoid?
