I'm going through a really hard time with a family situation. My uncle was just diagnosed with lung cancer, and he's in possibly the worst shape anyone with the disease could be in. Obviously, this was all due to smoking. He has max. 8 weeks to live. Now, this is hard enough for me, and thinking about what my aunt is dealing with is even harder. They're only 61, and he's about to leave her for the rest of her life. The last memories she'll ever have of him are in pain and suffering. So that's the background info for my question. See, my b/f's a smoker and right now its really hard for me to deal with this. I've told him how I feel and it's really important to me for him to quit or at least cut back and not smoke around me. Since I only see him on weekends, I dont see what could be so hard for him to do either. I just dont want to be where my Aunt is. Weve been together for about 2 years. I really love him and we plan on marriage. BUT he wont be respectful of my situation. What do I do?

My boyfriend dumped me saying that he needed some space and I believed him. I always told him that I was there for him and that I was waiting for him. I waited for two months without a word from him, and after that, I find that he is with another person. This totally destroyed me. How do I ever trust someone again??? Should I keep waiting for this person I love, and have already forgiven or should I give up? Should I fight for his love or move on? I really love him.

I broke up with my first girlfriend a few months ago and I'm ready to start dating again. Unfortunately, I'm having a difficult time meeting women. I don't like to go to bars and most of the women my age that I meet are already in serious relationships or married. Even worse, when I do finally meet a girl I'm attracted to I have a hard time starting up a conversation because I'm shy. I basically met my first girlfriend by pure luck. Any suggestions?

I just got consent from my daughter's biological father for my husband to adopt my daughter. This is very good news for her because the biological father has been in and out of her life and is not stable. My daughter is only three and my husband is the only real "daddy" she has known. Does anyone have any advice/has been in this situation before? We live in Kansas.

my friend has bullimia (dont know if i spelt it right???), she is depressed and suicidal and has many problems with her past (she was sexualy abused most of her life). she has just started new anti depressants and they are playing her moods a bit(mood swings). she is seeing a councelor and phycologist and doctors and stuff but she seem to be getting worse. i am worried about her, i want to help but there is only so much i can do. she is only 16 and so am i we live together with my boyfriend and she spends alot of time in her room crying to music. she gets angry and tries to kill herself or cuts herself. they cannot admit her into hospital coz they dont think its serious enough even the police cant get her in there. how can i be there for her without making her feel smothered or uncomfortable. i cant leave her alone alot for fear she will hurt herself... i want her to eat properly but i dont want 2 push her 2 far and have her throw up again. what do i do. only serious answers please.

ok, this is something thats been haunting me for years and i find telling you all is theraputic....................

ok, 7 yrs ago i was sexually assaulted by a so called friend at a party. i had a bit too much too drink and went to sleep in a spare room. i woke up to find this so called 'friend' on top of me. as you could imagine i went beserk. called the cops, went to hospital, went to court, but, because HIS friends evidence was incossistent, he was found 'not guilty'.

even tho it was a long time ago, i don't think i have come to terms with it properly. thats why i have a 'hate all men' attitude. although i was offered counselling, i don't believe in strangers making you better. ironic i know considering what i'm asking, but your annonymous and not face to face, judging me like, umm, hmmm, riiight........patronising me.

guess what i'm saying is, without counselling, do you think i can overcome my 'dislike' of men and learn to trust more?
