Just like you I have every single card that I've ever received too. I finally put them all into scrapbooks. You shouldn't feel guyilty about throwing them away though if you want to. Just keep them for a couple of months or so if you have too many. Or go through your whole collection of them and decide which ones you can do without.

I also save every darn card I recieve, as does my mother. Sometimes we could ditch some of the ones from children to reduce the pile. Children will live longer, give you more cards than, say, your mom or dad. Those always get saved. Mother's day cards and birthday cards should be saved, too. We keep them in a shoebox. They hold up pretty good there.

Cards are different with girls than with guys. I have zero cards that I have received in the past. If any were made by hand I might have kept them (or if any were real important), but it makes no difference to me for some reason if someone buys a stock message and writes their name in it.

Sure some may have personalized messages, but is there any reason to save it? You can read it later, but if it just says that they love you - don't you already know that? I find memories are better than cards are. They take up less space, they affect you're life more, and no one else can read your memories.

I expect people I give cards to, to throw them out, unless I wrote something more special in it like a poem. I usually don't even bother with them anymore. If you don't have anything special to say, why say to someone else something that someone else made and got paid to make?

There's something else about them that I can't remember - but I'll remember later.

I know how you feel.. First off , your family probably doesn't even expect that you have saved them all, so don't feel bad.. Go through all of them, the ones that really warm your heart save.. I took an 8.5 x 11 manilla envelope and stored away all my favorites inside and I keep it in my filing cabinet.. Then every special ocassion, I keep a card or two if it really is extra special to me in some way.. You see, all of them are special, so the cards I keep have to be extra special to me or else i'll be up to my ears in this stuff.. good luck

I am a true sentimental slob...and I have never thrown away a greeting card. When I barely had anything to eat...I still had my greeting cards. Isn't that interesting? Maybe, we should put them in a scrap book or something. (Oh great, another project I can put off for ten years). I have them spread out in so many places; I do feel silly hanging onto them...but then...which ones do you throw away? I have lugged these things around with me through thick and thin. I might as well accept it...they are with me to stay.

Yep! Me too. I got valentines from 30 years ago from school. I even kept the cards from my ex. I got a tub in the shed that every year or so I put the new ones from the last year in. My favorite cards are the ones from my kids. I have all them in a box in the house.

I sometimes save cards if I really like them. But I usually throw them out after a couple of months.

After my kids were grown, I gave them memory , photo albums. Each contained cards I received when they were born, first birthday cards thru the time they were teen agers that were from family. Now I save the special cards I receive from them and their children.

I keep them too. I also have a lot of books though and many of them haven't been read for quite some time. So I keep them tucked away in my books - might want to try that. It's cheaper than buying a storage system and it takes up less room. I say keep them - you'll be glad you have them one day! :)

Oh yes! I save every letter and card, I have a drawer full of them from when I was 1. Keep them- someday they will mean so much to you, and they'll only appreciate in value. Someday you'll even show them to your children!
