My child turned 18 at the beginning of the year and he is out of school now as of early June. His mother and step dad have taken steps to put him in an expensive college -over 20,000.00 per year. I have had to save money where I could and not have some of the things I always wanted--I have never deprived my child of anything even though my ex had the child pay for school lunches with his own money--I paid for things beyond support. Without consulting me as to what I wanted --we have a joint legal agreement-- they enrolled him in a major university--I wanted him to go to the local community college as to where the costs might be in the area of 2,000 to 2,200 per year that I could afford. Can they take me to cour to pay for those inordinately high costs. I'm retired--to me that is way out of line--what do you think--here in Illinois. Yes he is a very smart "A" student. What can people like me do?

We liked the sex and he liked the special attention an 18 year old requires. He went with his peers at times overnight, but would always come home the next day. I know he wants to use meth and I gave him a choice as I quit. He moved in with his dad who lets him go out for 2-3 nights and doesn't question his activities. Recently, his dad called to see if I knew where he was. I of course didn't know. I know he has to play once in a while, but his dad really needs him lately to renovate their new house. His selfishness not only existed with me, but apparently with his dad too. I just told his dad not to worry he will come home. I feel that I have to let this guy go as much as possible. I miss his company and the sex, but he needs more nurturing from daddy and also needs to play with peers more often. I will always be a friend, but to his disappointment I want to end the extra benefits. Should I?

We never married, have a 7 yo boy together. When we fuss about the child, I end up questioning my own thoughts. He has neglected him in the past and had visitation modified per my request. I work full time as a professional, have the child full time, encourage visitation with his dad, me present. His dad has no friends, I have many. We had a fuss in the school lot months ago because he was late to pick the child up so the school called me to come and pick him up, I was upset and stated in the parking lot that when he was not drinking he was having withdrawal and when he was drinking he was drunk and needed to decide on the alcohol or his child. Well we were at an outing and my son told him that I don't let him call his dad because he was drunk in front of an older boy.not so. Now he's blaming me saying that I have caused irrrevok. damage to his relationship with his child. I admit saying this and know my son repeated it to him. Now I feel like I should be in the DOG HOUSE. ANY HELP

I have been with my boyfriend about a year and 6 months and over this time my jealousy towards other woman has increased. I never really was a person to be jealous and at times I even feel possessive. I do not want him to get tired of me because I am acting like some jealous freak. Say you are going out with a girl you like. She is everything that you have always wanted. You let her know that and that you want to marry her and have babies with her. However, you are shy and in your culture the woman usually inisiate the relationships. Sometimes you tell her that you'll call her but then you don't. Sometimes you tell her that you'll call and you do. She invites you to go to the movies and you never call her about a time that works for you. And when she calls you to see what's up and to make sure that your not dead (after not hearing from you in days) you tell her that, "Oh I can't go out today cause my cars having trouble, I'll call you later" and then don't call her. Why would you do that, what does that mean?

She apparently had some unfullfilled fantasies. I don't have a problem with it except that now with me she want's to be little miss angel.
