My school uses styrofoam lunch trays and I know that they are very poor decomposers and somewhat toxic. How can our school recycle trays? I don't think it would be smart to use plastic trays because we are going through a drought and we can't use extra water to clean them. Any ideas?

and considering that there is just as much factual proof to support radical Islam as there is to support radical environmentalism, and then considering both have the same agenda, the destruction of America, its freedoms, and its people’s way of life, then why do we tolerate the environmentalist pushing their religion into our schools, upon our children

I'm really mad right now because yet again there's some people out there from some tree cutting hacking away at everything I love. The woods aren't very big, but here in New Jersey where there's so much development every acre counts. It's been my private sanctuary for a long time where I could always come to explore or relax. Plus all the animals will suffer if its gone. There's of course lots of trees but there's a creek that runs through it and a field. Seemingly just to make me wonder there's an old abandoned stone cabin too. I stared in shock when I saw they had cut down most of the trees hiding the creek from plain view. The creek was one of my favorites, where I could sit and listen to the water and watch the animals drink, or slide around when it would freeze over. I feel really bad now because I'm thinking about all the animals I've seen running around there. I mean, it's like one of the only places nearby for the deer. There's a busy road between the path to the other.

Hi, I have found this beetle in my garden (UK) and I have no idea what it is. It is brown, about 5mm diameter, looks a bit like it has scales, and has long antenne. The strange thing about it, is that it has about 10+ 'whiskery' things coming out of both sides of it. These are also brown. does anyone have any ideas, or websites?
Also, i found it on my wooden post box?

Check out the pictures in the link below.

"A company called Marine Current Turbines will be installing a 1.2 megawatt tidal turbine in Northern Ireland's Strangford Lough in August. The SeaGen turbine will be the world’s largest ever tidal current device by a significant margin. It will generate clean electricity for approximately 1000 homes. The turbine is a prototype to be replicated on a large scale over the next few years. The rotors on the SeaGen turbine turn slowly: about 10 to 20 revolutions per minute. A ship's propellers, by comparison, typically run 10 times as fast. The risk of impact from SeaGen rotor blades is small, because the marine creatures that swim in strong currents tend to be agile, and can avoid slow-moving underwater obstructions."

I am thrroughly intrigued by this 100 mile diet that I recently came upon, (eating within 100 miles of your home/localvores/eating locally). Has anyone tried this diet?
Was it difficult? Did you miss anything? What are your ideas? Would you try this diet? What made you or would make you decide to try it? Anything else you'd like to tell me about it!! Thanks

Is it the only way of making real reductions in carbon emissions? Is it really too dangerous? Are renewables a realistic option? Is more uranium mining a decent economic opportunity?

My chemistry class is having a huge debate on the different types of power generation...which is the best most sustainable, enviro friendly etc... tommorow i present on my topic--wave/ tidal power..and basically i get a minute or two to present my case and then the class bombards me with questions trying to point out flaws..its RUTHLESS! ...i need a rock solid defense and arguments to dispute the weak points of my proposal---i need to make the disadvantages look good, even!... i'd be grateful for your two cents worth on the subject, and possibly some debate tips :) thanks!

This was on the news a couple of nights ago.

They are cutting down MILLIONS of acres of rain forest, so they can plant crops that produce natural oil which is to be used in bio-fuel to reduce carbon emissions to save the environment !!!!!!

Okay, I am skeptical about the whole 're-cycle' 'Global warming' 'Must reduce carbon footprint' 'my one re-cycled can will counter act the lack of China re-cycling' 'Wooah!!! LIVE EARTH - that'll save the planet' thing - but I could not help but laugh at this.

Bit like a Dr chopping off someone's head to cure a headache !!!!!!!

The environmental cost of a marriage splitting occurs because couples and their families move into separate properties after divorce – meaning they collectively occupy more space, burn more energy, and consume more water than they did as a family unit...."

Or are they keeping silent about it because they have been corrupted by leftist political correctness?
