I assume this would take one heck of a lot of hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen sulfide is quite toxic, so how safe would the process be? What would be the potential environmental side effects of the process? Isn't H2S a significant greenhouse gas all by itself? How would we produce enough hydrogen sulfide to make a dent in global warming this way?

Plug-In Electric Hybrids are vehicles that have, in addition to a gas motor, an electric motor which runs off an onboard battery that can be charged at home. The problem is that battery technology to store enough power for any appreciable range is extremely expensive. But I do wonder whether our highways can be economically electrified so that PHEVs can pull their power from the road, while charging their batteries at the same time. Then much of our travel miles could be electrically powered without the huge up front cost of extensive battery storage.

I live in an apt and have a patio where the suns warmth warms the patio, and glass sliding door. I feel its raising the temprature in my apt. Will growing a number of large leafed plants help keeping the temp down on the patio.

I'm thinking more in chemical nature (like producing O and the effects of O) rather than a matter of shade

NYC uses large crown vics, which looks like they burn a lot MPG, but most of the time they're stuck in traffic (wasting fuel)

A hybrid shuts down when it's parked, uses wasted kinetic energy to charge batteries, and at slow speeds, uses an electric motor.

It would be a great investment. Cities would be quieter, and reduce smog (and also gas). Are any cities doing this?

What is more annoying: the fact that this world is going to **** or that there are people who are arguing that global warming is just a leftist popularity contest and doesn't exist, and in the process, trying to stop all global warming solutions? Seriously though I don't get why some people like to argue just for the sake of hearing their own voices! Global warming is real, its not a partisan issue, it is a MORAL issue. It sucks that progress has to be stalled so much by people who want to argue that it isn't true. Why can't people put aside their egos and political identity and just do what is right?!!

If the earth is heating up and ice is melting we have an increase in water in liquid and gas form correct? Isn't the end result an increase in cloud cover that will reflect sun and have a corresponding cooling effect? An anology might be a govenor on an engine maybe?

I believe that there are still many questions that need to be answered as far as what the true cause of global warming is, and if it can be prevented. However, I have noticed that many American politicians, usually on the democratic side, are strong advocates of global warming and pass legislation to reduce the amount of carbon emissions in American industry.

However, this comes at a price - a great price in the increase of production costs inside America, resulting in many jobs being outsourced to places like India and China, developing nations which have little to no environmental restrictions on production.

With that in mind, this leads up to my question of why are politicans focusing so much on America reducing its carbon emissions in industry, while they are letting other countries with many more people and much worse environmental practices do what they please to destroy the environment while allowing them to take jobs from other places around the world?

Leftists love hierarchical control viz a viz Soviets, China, Cuba, Franco's Spain, Venezula, several baltic/eastern europe countries, -etc. They needed big rallying cries to 'justify' their takeover of a country [fighting imperialism, economic factors, jobs, no wars, utopia laced platitudes, -etc]. Just ask a leftist - they are smart and probably smarter than you! They are not interested in debate for in their minds they have won. Just straighten up and do as we say (they say)

Global Warming is the new rallying point behind which THEY HAVE A PLAN and you my little ones, WILL PAY FOR IT.
Do this, do that, pay this, pay that, buy this, dont ever buy that , control, control... total control.

How do we keep control freaks out of the Global Warming fixes?

Say there was an illness that flushed across part of the globe, say there were major floods or earthquakes, say a giant volcano errupted in the middle of a metropolis, maybe a couple nukes go off? But say somehow a large chunk of every major population across the globe was simply cut by a little more than half, 60%. Do you think the planet would benefit from not having so many people clamoring for it's resources and developing on top of its natural landscapes?? Along those lines, perhaps human beings would be better able to put aside their differences and get along?

What do you think would happen? Would there be any long-term benefits after the short-term recovery from the plagues and disasters?

I have no problem agreeing with scientists that global warming is happening. What I would like to see is a cogent answer to this question: If we humans are causing global warming, why are the other planets in our solar system also having an increase in their surface temperatures?

The Martian icecaps are melting! If that is not the fault of humans (I am pretty sure it isn't), then does it not logically follow that the sun is the culprit? If the sun is warming up all other planets in the solar system, wouldn't it be warming up earth as well?

Again, I believe the earth is getting warmer. But please, somebody explain to me how it is man's fault when Mars is warming as well. I really do want to know.
