While the global warming sounds pretty horrible - I gotta think that a global depression by actually reducing energy use that much would be equally horrible.

We don't need hydrogen fuel cells which are not going to happen. Don't believe the hype. We don't need gasoline or diesel. We need electric cars. They don't have to use coal. We can easily do solar and wind driven electrical power. Give the finger to the big corporations and start cleaning up this environment. For you Christian's who support gas companies ... What does it profit a man to gain all the gold and lose the very air he breathes?

Lets say Global Warming isn't real....Wouldn't you agree that we should still be trying to cut emissions and be as energy efficent as possible. I think even if it's all made up, we should still be trying to find renewable energy sources, perfecting the Fuel-Cell, and moving away from petroleum based fuels. Do you agree? Can't we at least come together on that?

Global warming sceptics keep claiming that it's a government conspiracy to make money. But the U.S. government consistently opposes the idea that theres a human cause.

It is an important concept in science that all theories must be disprovable or falsifiable. Why is this so important?

The international community sanctions countries through the UN for what the economically powerful states (usually the security council) consider transgressions, either legal or moral. In view of the long term effect on the bio-sphere (which includes humanity) of CO2 emissions, these can be considered agents (not weapons) of mass destruction, so why is the USA not being sanctioned for its blatant disregard for world ecology? The self-styled 'world police' only seems to have its own best interests at heart whilst citing 'world safety' as a reason for most of its international policy. In my opinion this is a case of dual standards which must be addressed before global warming becomes an irresolvable problem on a world-wide scale.

Throughout history, civilizations of the earth have been founded on good principles, then, over time, those principles are slowly eroded, and the civilization begins to dissolve, until it implodes and is destroyed. Do you believe this is a cycle, and do you think this is what is happening currently in America, or any other country?

I was reading an article that had a sentence about it, but didn't explain. I'm curious if it's bad because people don't recycle the plastic, or if they might've meant purolator water or something else?

I get my water bottles from a local place, the large water bottles that go on the water cooler, they super-filter the tap water to remove impurities. Is this at all environmentally unsound?

Please let me know, thanks.

Ok, has anyone else seen this film and found it transformed their whole views on the environment? I found this....
Really making an effort to cut the energy my household use.

If you think was a load of rubbish, why? Isnt Al Gore just saying what scientists have found without smoothing it over to make us all feel better?
You have to admit though, whether you loved it or hated it, global warming is alarmingly speeding up and we all need to make an effort.
What are your views??

I have been thinking, since the final product in hydrogen-cell powered cars is water, then wouldn't we experience an increase in humidity, see more rain, and maybe changes in global weather patterns? Not meant to be a political question, just a pure science answer. Just been wondering about this b/c hydrogen seems to be the "it" future power source. Thanks.

Only if you've seen both the documentaries An Inconvenient Truth and The Great Global Warming Swindle, I hope you can comment on both. Which do you think present a more compelling argument. And after seeing these two, which side are you on now (has it changed)? Thanks!

Yahoo! has announced it's going carbon neutral in 2007. We all want to do our part to combat climate change. But the question is why should we go carbon neutral when the effects of global warming (GW) are so uncertain and speculative?***. I want your ideas on how we can reach our goal of debating whether humankind should do anything to stop GW. In what innovative or creative projects do you think we should invest in lieu of GW? See the works by Bjorn Lomborg--every dollar spent on GW is one dollar less spent on stopping world hunger, poverty, and so forth.
