Do people really not believe that we are destroying the earth? Do people not believe that water and air polution are not a problem? Are we too afraid on not surviving in the short-term to focus on long-term problems? Or are we just basically selfish?

I belive this could both help with global warming, and give America a new job base for its people. This way we would be in control of the uranium, and we would know it would be a safe structure. We could start schools to train people how to run these powerplants, and go to work in other countries. Plus people who worked at these plants would be making American money, and could live like kings in these other counties, lol. This would also help other counties get off their dependancies to burn fossil fuels as there source of electricity.

I have heard for years industrial plants, car emmisions, hair spray, freon and oh so many others. What about all the airplanes that go up each day all over the world..jet airliners all over the world, the space shuttles, the misssles that take up satalight dishes for cell phones ,T.V. Goverment satalites all over the world. Look at all the fuel that they burn going up and how much closer are they to the ozone? What are your thoughts?

There's been soooo much publicity recently abut CO2 causing global warming - but what if it's down to sunspot activity ? The Stern report mentions this in passing , but seems to ignore it after acknowledging it's importance and accuracy in prediction prior to 1950 . The graph in the article [fig 4?] shows the data . The world is going to spend so much cash ,it's a worry

Practically everything you buy now from fresh meat to small household electrical goods is vacuum packed, boxed, shrink wrapped and enveloped in polystyrene. This packaging depletes the earths natural resouces and causes us major problems with it's disposal. Plastics in particular take years to degrade and not all are suitable for recycling. I understand goods in transit need to be protected but the problem of waste disposal seems to be spiraling out of control. What can we as consumers to curb this growth?
