Convert power plants from fossil fuels such as natural gas or coal to nuclear energy. This will substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce demand on natural gas.
Convert all government vehicles from gasoline to Compressed natural gas (this will reduce the demand for gasoline) you will have more natural gas available as power plants do not use it anymore.
By doing the above, the USA would reduce its dependency on foreign oil and clean up the air we breathe in one quick solution.
The tradeoff is dealing with nuclear waste.

i imagine it comes about by way of non secular beliefs that sex is sinful.
