It is so obviously impractical even compared to other alternative energy sources like wind power. Only 0.06% of the worlds electricity comes from solar Photovoltaics, about 1/3 as much as of the rarely mentioned geothermal power or 1/10 the power we get from wind power or biomass.

Solar provides less than 1/200th the electricity we can get from hydro power.

If solar power was anywhere near practical it would be more common among the renewable power sources.

A solution to global warming will have to be practical to do any good and right now solar does not seem to qualifiy compared to the other renewables.

Do you know that there's no discernable coorelation between atmospheric CO2 and climate change? Do you know that there is a net accumulation of snow in Antarctica, not a net melting?

Do you know that of over 500 climate scientists who answered a survey in 2003 less than 10%answered "strongly agree" that climate change is primarily human caused?

What determines which vehicle comes under this banner? Yes I know 4x4's are classed into this category whats the cut off point miles per gallon? weight? public mis- conception? Additionally if 4x4's are not a reasonable everyday vehicle then nor might i mention are 2 seater sports cars. A 4x4 is generally owned and maintained by people who tow, are we now going to class caravans as enhancements to gas guzzlers and therefore penalised and become akin to anti social delinquents?

This is in regards to Al Gore and all his "inconvenient truths"...

I asked a question about how people felt about Al's call for more energy conservation from Americans and yet he uses 20 times more energy in his one home in one month than the average family uses in a whole year.

and one response I got was basically saying "It's the message not the messenger." I have looked at other questions and I see same response. "message not the messenger"

Now that does not make sense to me... When that Haggard guy was caught having a homosexual affair with a man people went ape over the fact that he was a hypocrite, and time and again his name is splashed across yahoo answers to show how hypocritical the right wingers are.

And yet here is a man who "lives a carbon neutral lifestyle, is Eco friendly and studies the environment" and yet he uses more energy than most people in the country, he rides around in a limo and has a personal jet.

When is it time to admit he is a Hypocrite?

This Eco-capitalism thing seems like a good idea to me, what, if any, are the problems with it being a large part of an effective stratagy for an enviromentally friendly and sustainible civilization in america as well as in other countires?

It's funny because eco-capitalists are called blue greens, those are my two favorite colors and the description is a good representation of my political philosophy.

The storage of nuclear waste is a problem that not a lot of people are aware of, but is an important issue because nuclear waste is piling up at the reactor sites and is awaiting storage at Yucca Mountain in Nevada, where all of the United State's nuclear waste will be stored for about 10,000 years (until the waste is no longer hazardous). However, it is not set to open until 2018, and the decision to open it faces a lot of controversy, especially from the people living nearby.
I am doing a term/research paper for my dual-credit college class and I need a poll of the general public for use in my paper, which will be on the opening of the Yucca Mountain Nuclear Storage Repository in Yucca Mountain Nevada.
I would like to discuss both views involved with this issue, which are the supporters/opposition, so with this question I'd appreciate it if you could choose one answer and elaborate on your ideas, if possible.
Please answer one
*Yes
*No
*Do not know enough about the issue.
