Depends how high a mast can be built and remain stable with guide wires remaining within your property. And its not likely you'll be building one high enough to require guide wires to hold it up

If you have a stong mast supporting your turbine, a turbine built for use on a single house that is; 3ft X 3ft would probably be adequate for a base

You can have a large yard or no yard at all and put your windmill turbine on the roof of your house if it will fit, so it will produce electricity. If you are unable to use it all sell some of it back to the electric company. Why does it say that you can have only a certain size yard or not. It's what you want to do with the electricity that should make the determining factor, not the size of your yard because there is almost always away to work around everything.
