It has never been determined what the real cost and benifit would be if landfills were replaced by a new process that transforms the trash now being dumped in landfills into useful raw material. The value of the raw material is unknown as is the process so why is it assumed by everyone a landfill is a required evil?

I asked this earlier and I think I deliverd the question wrong b/c I got some odd answers. If you were an environmental science teacher, how would you respond to someone who tells you that they don't believe in biological evolution b/c it is 'just a theory'. This question is for a science class -- I need someone who knows a little about scientifc theoris and biological evolution.....
Thanks!

Simple numbers include the highest number of people surviving on this earth sets new records annually. Meanwhile these same people demand more products/services that require more land to be cleared of trees and other oxygen producing plants. With less oxygen in the atmosphere, the warmer the atmosphere will become. How can you refute the fact that global warming is happening when you know these other two statistics is accurate?

wether or not you are a 'human induced global warming' sceptic or not do you accept the world is getting hotter, i think you do as you say its part of a natural cycle.

Why then do people not see the problems especially with regards to low lying cities hundreds of millions of people will be displaced, cities like miami, new york, amsterdam, bejing and tokyo and lots of others in asia will all be under serious threat from the sea. Also why bother rebuilding New orleans it will obviousl come under attack again if not from the sea then another hurricane.

Isn't that why houston was moved or located inland to prevent such problems?

Squirrel is off the menu in one Passaic County town.

For the first time, the state has issued warnings on how much squirrel people should eat in Ringwood.

That's because the town is near a toxic waste dump and a lead-contaminated animal was found in the area two months ago.

Ringwood residents are advised that children should not eat squirrel more than once a month, pregnant women should limit their intake to twice a month, and adults should not eat squirrel more than twice a week.

Residents and many environmental activists believe the lead comes from toxic waste dumped by the Ford Motor Company from its now-closed manufacturing plant in Mahwah.

Ford is removing thousands of tons of waste from the 500-acre site.

The Ringwood area is home to many members of the Ramapough Mountain Indian tribe who hunt and fish in the area.
