Yes,they do. Your mistake is not uncommon,most people do not know that peanuts grow underground!
Peaches first bloom during the early spring,giving a wonderful fresh scent to anything about 3 miles from it.
After the blooms have been fertilized (By pollen from 'male' blooms hitting a 'female' bloom through an insect,wind,or human interference) they will begin to 'bulb'. These bulbs have a pretty light yellow color,and eventually will become,(In about late June) the beautiful,tree growing fruits that we know today!

i'm actual thinking you will basically be burying a pickled peach seed. it is advisable to coach a eulogy using fact i don't have confidence it is going to produce something yet some extra dirt in some years. Sorry.
