I heard this version of The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire). It was pretty fast and upbeat, kind of jazz-like. It is a guy and a girl singing, they sound African American, but I'm not sure. The song is amazing and I was wondering if anyone know who the artists are. The song version has been around for a while because I remember hearing it last year on the radio.

During the early 80's, there was as song that used to be on the radio a lot. I don't know the name of the song, hence the question. I'll do my best to describe the tune.
"BADIYAH! BADIYAH! BADIYAHIYAHIYAHIYAHIYAH! BADIDUHDUHDUH!"

Take 6 remade the song on the "Join the Band" album. I want to know who made the original?

What happened to the Jazz singer Kamal?
I love the Billy Cobham album "Simplicity of Expression, depth of thought". The best song is early libra, where a singer Kamal sings with a beautiful contra alto. I have never been able to find out who he is, or in what other CD.s he appears. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I googled it and nothing came up besides a New Age singer. Does anyone have a clue? and it is not the artist who lives in Australia Khamal. This is someone different
This is not the singer in Dubai either, he is too young. Kamal recorded the song Early libra with Billy cobham in 1979, so this must be another singer.

I heard it last Saturday morning 11/17/07 on the Today Show and missed who they said sang it. It was a man, likely black by the sound of the voice.

There's something about you, that I never knew, why didn't I see your smile before, there's something about you, that's leaving me breathless... leading me on.

Something along the lines of these albums...(or something different)

Bill Evans-Sunday Afternoon at the Village Vanguard
Jim Hall-Live
Thelonious Monk-Underground
Ben Webster-At the Renaissance
Lee Konitz-Another Shade of Blue
Sheila Jordan-Portrait of Sheila Jordan.

I don't mind if it gets loud at times, as long as it has a quiet interspective, explorative vibe to it. Anything good to chill to is good for me.
