Looking for some good smooth jazz....?
I really like the smooth jazz genre. Even the more upbeat stuff. I am looking for something new to listen to. I already like Peter White, Dave Koz, Kenny G. Looking for something new to listen too along those lines. Thanks for your input. Artist name and album name would be nice. I realize somethings Artist have cd's that are better than others. :) Thanks again.

Right, I am currently in a Jazz trio, Piano, Sax and Bass. When the drummer joins it will become a Jazz Quartet. There is a possibilty for a Jazz guitar to be involved in the band. Is it nessacary to have a Guitarist if there is a piano player as well? Will it be a waste of a musician, as the chords will just be doubled....

What do you think? Do you think we should have a guitarist as well?

I'm looking for the original music video that went with the song 'What a wonderful world' by Louis Armstrong. It showed war time scenes and wounded and stuff. It's the best music video of all time and I can't find it.

He sang with Lionel Hampton and Wes Montgomery throughout 1948-1953, but seems to be practically unheard of in the States. Supposedly he had a big following in France...I have two of his CD's, one here

I'm talking about solo grand piano, playing classical or jazz music. When I record, it comes out clanky, and seems to exagerate any imperfections in the tuning. I want to capture the way the piano really sounds.

I LOVE R&B and Soul. So I thought I would give jazz a try. I know its something you just cant hop into but I think I like. Some of what i have been listening to is In a Sentimental mood by John Coltrane and some Amy Winehouse. Could you throw some music around that I may like? and shed some more light on ella and lena... since they seem to be the jazz ambassadors??? thanks =)

btw, im 13 and a music-holic.

I am desperate for help. Lately, I have been diggin' the albums I have listed below. I do not know of others with the same sound. The best description I know of is "post-bop". If you are familiar with any of the music I have listed, and know of more thats likened to it, please notify me.

Andrew Hill-Point of Departure
Booker Ervin-Space Book
Eric Dolphy-Out There
Prince Lasha and Sonny Simmons-Firebirds
Bobby Hutcherson-Components
Tony Williams-Lifetime.

Please answer ONLY if you are familiar with the music I have listed above. Also, I already have heard all of Miles and Coltrane's work. thanks.
