I have always thought Benson is great! These are some of my favorite cuts of his, but I had never seen the videos. Thank You, Mia.
Derek, YOU ARE WRONG. These cuts might not prove it to you, but search for interviews (there are several) such as the one with Carlos Santana, who is also a GREAT guitarist, where they talk about how good Benson is. I have been a jazz musician (several instruments) for many years. Any GOOD guitarist I've talked to has talked about George Benson's talent as a player and a writer! Benson has done a lot of commercial, non-jazz stuff, but he is a better player over-all for it!

George Benson or Joe Satriani?
I think that Benson has got more skills.
Satrini is LOUDER, but not more skilled.
I don't listen to either one consistently, and I have no favorite. Judging by these clips, Benson has the better chops.

I am suprized you would pick George Benson singing (mostly) "On Broadway" as he's not doing much in it. Benson is KILLER on guitar and that's not his best. I would recommend you look up "Wes Montgomery" the guitarrist Benson copied. He even does an octave lick in this version of on braodway you show. Then check out MIMI FOX.
