I like The Complete Ella in Berlin. It's a live performance and Ella is in great voice and having fun. She makes up lyrics to Mack the Knife, scats Charlie Parker, and imitates Louis Armstrong.

I don't know if it's still available, but she has an album called "Ella Fitzgerald by Ella Fitzgerald". A great sampler.

Or buy any Ella sings Gershwin album.

I would personally recommend Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Rodgers and Hart Song Book or Lullabies of Birdland. Good luck on finding them.
